How to Make Dirty Plasti Dip Look Super Clean - Nothing Works Better!

Plasti Dip is so versatile but can get dirty and old looking very quickly. This video shows the best way to clean filthy plasti dipped rims, making it look like it was just sprayed on! This method also won't harm the dip in any way and is very cheap to do.

I find that adding diluted dish soap to my power-washer reservoir and doing one heavy coat with the designated foaming tip, letting them sit for about 5 mins and rinsing works great and is scrub free.

The Crusades Of BangBang When you first apply all 4+ coats you should let your car chill and cure for like 3 hours then take it easy on the roads for like 2-3 days to let it cure. Then after that you can legit do anything. Power wash, scrub, etc*

Good to know! I was curious, I didn't want to use a normal chemical rim cleaner since I was afraid the chemicals might eat away at the dip over time.

Hey man I’d say possibly, probably not dangerous if the sponge is wet but definitely microfiber is the safest option

Does this work for entire car? I just went through a $30 car wash (2 washes) and its still as dirty as it was before. My first wash in 3 months because of winter I have black plasti dip

What happens in winter season? There is salt and snow it wont affect the plastidip rims???? Wont chip? Wont peel?? Pls reply ;) thanks

I had no issues over a few winters, just they looked very grey and awful all winter due to the salt unless you clean them often. It didn’t end up peeling at all for years, still have the wheels lying around now

Spray some 303 protectant on it to help avoid picking up dirt and dust.

First coat should be very wet.

@@nood1ez if you apply a thin first coat it won't shine because paint will dry before spreading. It should spread.

Mürteza Yazol the first thin coat is necessary to make everything bond. It’s the most important step

@@erickessler2935 I watched official plastidip guide video in youtube and it says first layer should be wet. I applied both wet and thin layers to check it. Wet first layer helps a shiny finish because paint spreads evenly on surface before it dries. Thin first layer can dry before spreading and this cause a bad finish. Other wet layers can not fix it.

Just used a few coats of glossifier at the end! Definitely helps make it look better

How many coats of glossifier did you apply? Dyc said 1wet coat was plenty but I never had much luck with it. I don't like how the tacky the surface feels after and seems to be a magnet for dirt and grime.

I believe did 3 coats per rim, 1 isn’t good enough especially if you want it more glossy

When you spray straight plastidip on rims you then won't to go over that with plastidip clearcoat either matte or gloss.

plasti dip on an entire car is a menace. I've used everything to clean. Frustrating to spend 45 min to an hour only to have it look as dirty as when I started. I'll give it a shot.
