I just sprtiz my brush with rosewater and dip into the mineral powder (in a separate dish of course) and that also give a flawless look. I have also added a little to my face oil and that works too but makes my brush gross so I prefer the rosewater version. Super easy and looks SO good. Just gotta have theright brush. That is key.

i have used RCMA on clients and indeed it is THE MAKEUP for film & camera, while still looking amazingly natural in person. it is SUPER pigmented, one the most pigmented in the market, and they match all skin tones. since the formula is creamy and pigmented you only need a little, so you can sheer it out. your formula is right on cue wth the original one! the only thing i don't like too much about it is that it is castor oil based, which I find waaay too thick and goopy to be worn comfortably -- it will get oily. it's better for colder climates than warmer ones, for sure. but KUDOS on this amazing tutorial!!!

Thank you so much! It's amazing to hear from someone who has experience with the real deal 😄 And yeah, no issues here with heat + oiliness given it's winter in Canada ha 🥶It would be really easy to try a different liquid oil in place of the castor oil, though! Thanks for watching ❤️

Thak you for sharing such a great formula. I have a question though. What is the function of castor oil in this formula? I think it is too thick for the fundation.

I made this this week. I'm really impressed with the texture and wear. Light coverage but just the right amount to even skin tone and freshen the complexion. I used the following qs I had to make substitutions. 2.5g makeup from your book 1.15g isopropyl myristate 0.95g caster oil 0.20g candilila wax 0.15g beeswax 0.05g silica 0.01g vit E I'm now off to mix up afresh batch of mineral makeup in a darker shade so I can make another version of this but darker for contouring . I'll let you know how it goes.

Funnily enough, I recently looked into buying foundation palettes for work on film and whatnot and I also came across RCMA. I ended up buying a Mehron palette instead and as far as I can see, all these Pro palettes seem to have the base ingredients in common, like IPM, ozokerite wax and microcrystalline wax. I never thought I'd like cream foundation because the thought of putting something slippy and oily on my extremely dry skin did not sound appealing to me. Turns out, if I maintain good skincare habits, I can use cream foundation! So, a few weeks ago, of course I made some! I used my mineral foundation, some sericite mica, silica microspheres, coco caprylate, squalane and BTMS-25. It turned out lovely! I can sheer it out beautifully and it dries down to a very nice velvety finish. Once I use it up, I'll try and make some more blends of mineral foundation and try your recipe to create a wider range of colours I can use in a palette 😄

@@deris7865 oh my gosh, so sorry I didn't reply sooner! I didn't get a notification that somebody commented! Anyways, here's the recipe if you're still interested 😁 : 35% MM 8% Silica microspheres 10% Sericite Mica 0,5% Vitamin E oil 6,5% Squalane 12,5% BTMS-25 27,5% Coco Caprylate First you need to melt all of the oily stuff in a double boiler together with the powders, then as it cools down, keep stirring, maybe even consider using a little mixer, I find when I keep agitating and incorporating air into this as it cools, it doesn't harden into a solid clump, but it stays quite soft and airy, almost like a mousse au foundation! 😂

Marie what if we don't have a grinder to grind the powder? I can't find any cheap coffee grinder here in my city, can I use my blender for this? 😂
@andromeda1903
@andromeda1903 4 жыл бұрын
no! do not use a blender. you cannot mix cooking utensils with chemistry utensils. also, the blender is too big and it would make a huge mess. if you do not have a dedicated grinder for the pigments you can blend them with a fine-mesh metal sifter (not contaminated with food, preferably - it will spoil your makeup), a spoon and two small bowls. basically keep mixing and sifting together several times until there are no streaks.

I've always ordered my coffee grinders online, usually off Amazon. They're usually in the $20-$30 range, and if you take good care of it, it'll last for years :) You'll want something with blades rather than burrs, and quite a small grinding dish. Make sure it is only used for cosmetics-those fine powders will never fully wash out + will end up in food if you try and make it do double duty. Happy making!
