Unfortunately I thought you might say that. You’ve done a brilliant job but don’t think my DIY skills match yours! Thanks for replying.

Excellent simple methods, I think sometimes I over complicate things for example with a ladder plinth arrangement or additional supports above the units to receive cover strips, whereas you just set the doors lower and fix to tips of units. Also clever how you avoid a plinth scribe by keeping a tight shadow gap with simple levelled battens. Have you ever been back to a job like this to find that the caulk lines have cracked? I would expect that to happen on a job like this unless you’ve got some secret I can’t see. What caulk do you use?

Thank you. Yep I've always used batons rather than a ladder plinth and always works well, and also the same with fixing the top trim. It saves a lot of time and materials and works just as well as any other method I personally think. I will most likely use silicone rather than caulk unless they are decorating the room then possibly caulk. A crack may appear, but I think that's down to the floor joists dropping ever so slightly and getting used to the weight of the units. If this reason is right then I'd imagine it would cause a few problems if the top trim was fixed also to the ceiling with the extra supports? I'm not too sure tbh as I've always used this method and possibly had the joints crack only a handful of times. Cheers Ryan

How do you make and measure the top scribes? I am about to do an eaves project myself and i usually use a block of 18mm to fit flush scribes but never done eaves before
