This is a "Be Your Own Barista" boot camp. It will teach you what you need to know to make great espresso at home with the Flair Espresso Maker or another manual brewing device, even your standard electric espresso machine. The fundamentals remain the same, you just won't have quite the same level of control and feedback with those other makers and machines.
These classes are offered ensure you're getting dialed in within the first few days of receiving your Flair, and not wasting (much) precious coffee in the process. There's a lot packed into these 1hr classes, you might want to watch them a second time.
Brew intentionally. Love what you brew.

Ive found my sweet spot for 16.5gr coffee to 34gr output is around 30sec preinfusion + 60-90secs on 7-9bar depends on the bean. (Im using flair pro 2) Do you think its too long? I always have a low extraction with coarser grind and brew time under 60sec.

Love these videos! I have the neo though and am struggling with my pressurized portafilter. I have a 2-1 on the way, but in the mean time I’m struggling with choking on my pressurized filter and >60 sec Extractions, I thought my grind was too fine but it’s just shy of a French press course grind, I’m not sure what else to do :(

I wish I read this (and many similar) comment earlier. This is exactly what I have here. I terribly wanted to have a Flair model thinking and weighing all pros and cons about each one they had except for the Pro 2. Since my burr grinder is basic but proudly capable enough to provide suitable grinds for delicious cups of V60, AeroPress and other alternative methods of brewing and can also grind fine enough for an espresso (the caveats would be lack of uniformity of grinds and too few steps in the range, I bet), I decided to do for the Neo. I thought the famous pressurized portafilter would do the trick, and the looks are just great (sorry Signature line). Well, mine never made a good, even an ok shot--the coarser grind already had it choked while making it impossible to get pressure enough to make an espresso (I'm pushing the lever with just one finger!). Long story short, the thing tends to choke no matter what is getting inside, and all I'm doing is maintenance and cleaning following all the Flair's support advices. I thought, maybe I have made a terrible mistake ordering the lowest model, and should have had less pretty but more professional Signature (which turns out to be significantly cheaper if you count the money spent on at least 3 accessories for your basic model), but still am frustrated and don't think it should be approached unless at least a Baratza Sette 270 is waiting there on the countertop. The support was of no help. They now suggest an option I'm considering but not sure yet, if it's worth it. I really wanted to love this thing 😑

I'm new to espresso making and when I use the tamper that came with my Flair Signature, there's just a very thin circle of untamped coffee grounds at the very rim of the puck. It's not even a millimeter but i always thought the tamper has to basically almost touch the edges of the basket. Is this normal? I was worried about channeling at first but it looked like the same happened to his puck here

grinding "fine enough" is only one part of the equation. Virtuoso+ and Encore come with only 40 grind setting adjustments which most will tell you are too few to have on hand to dial in your espresso to taste

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9BhrZyXsLHWh3U.html speaks to you your compatibility question but it sounds like your unit has the older spouted design (non-removable) and also is pre-PRO design and therefore not compatible with PRO brew head

@@raymondgoodman9148 if you have the Signature, you have the removable spout. It's the only way it was ever sold. Watch the video we provided a link to and pay attention to the removable black plastic ring that adapts the brew base to smaller brew heads. You don't have one we're guessing which would mean you can't use the bigger pro head

Here is another question. There are some cool coffee shops you want to go to just hang out. You may buy a nice pastry. The idea occured it would be cool to whip out this bad boy..and ask for a large cup of hot water. Do you think the brew temp of tea hot water from the espresso machine would maintain the right temp on its journey to your table to press a shot out. Or would you need to put a thermometer in there and most likely it would fall below the proper temperature. just throwing out random questions...

@@FlairEspresso Guys, could you please set my mind at rest? I'm about to order a black Signature model off Amazon, but I see quite a few verified reviews with people complaining that they received used Flairs with dents, scratches, dirt, and/or missing parts. I don't doubt your honesty, but is it possible that your warehouse staff would send a damaged model to Ukraine because it's so far away? I probably won't be able to return it as it's going to be too expensive for me, given that I'm a simple Ukrainian espresso-obsessed fella.
@FlairEspresso
@FlairEspresso 3 жыл бұрын
@@serjherman thanks for giving us a chance to explain the circumstances surrounding these reviews. We are the manufacturer and seller but fulfillment is by Amazon. When a customer returns a product for a refund, Amazon FBA alone determines whether the product can be resold "as new" or must be sent back to us as unsellable. We have explicitly asked them to send all returns back to us but they claim it's up to their sole discretion. That said, we believe the number of affected customers is quite small, but those customers are most likely to write negative reviews to warn others. Sadly they blame us, the manufacturer/seller despite the fact that we ourselves want this stopped. The only way we can guarantee you do not become a victim of their selling practices is to order direct from our website www.flairespresso.com
@serjherman
@serjherman 3 жыл бұрын
@@FlairEspresso *_Amazon. Amazon never changes_* Thank you for your detailed, sincere reply. Honestly, I would've made an order via Flair Espresso website in a heartbeat but ordering direct shipments to Ukraine without an intermediary shipment agency like NPShopping, which works only with Amazon and a handful of other e-commerce platforms, and dealing with our customs personally is a very risky and costly endeavor. UPS Ukraine is in an abysmal state too so it's a no-go. I guess I have some weighing in to do, but I'll be risking either way. But hey, on the off chance I do get a used Flair, I'll be sure to leave a 5* review with an explanation, sticking it to the man (hopefully, that won't be necessary, haha). Once again, you've knocked it out of the park with excellent customer service. Thank you for spending your time to shine a light on some things that were bothering me. Cheers!
