How to make faux fur boot covers

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have to make fur pants for a costume & wasn’t sure how to attach the elastic. This answered all my questions. If I have leftover fabric I may need to make these boot covers too.

One could sew the cuff part onto the fur FIRST, and then sew it all into a tube.

You definitely could, although that would mean you'd have to sew the ribbing and the side seam in one go, leaving a rough exposed seam allowance at the top of the cuff. On sleeve cuffs I don't think that's as irritating, but with this, it might not feel the best to have that seam there.

OMG! I have absolutely no use for these in Florida, but they are so ADORABLE!! I had a few pair when I lived in Wisconsin! Also, I am ROFLMBO 🤣🤣🤣 at the creative option of the end photo!!

So cute! I am trying to make fur legging/covers for a unicorn costume. I'm thinking of just using elastic and sewing down would that work? I am not a very good seamstress and don't have a sewing machine

I gotta be honest, it'll be tough to sew in elastic without a sewing machine. Yes, you can definitely go with uncovered elastic, but it'll be difficult to sew in a seam by hand that's strong enough to handle the stress that elastic goes through in the stretching.
