Thanks for sharing your creative mind with the world! I’m currently interesting in making my own version of reed diffuser, air wick freshener refill, and now foaming hand soap to reduce household expenses. I wonder if I can use fragrance oil instead of essential oil for this recipe? The reason I ask is because I want to use the fragrance oil which I have in hand, rather than spending money buying essential oil. Thanks again. Love from Arkansas. ❤️

Would love to hear more about Castile soaps being different. I know some are scented but not sure if that is what you meant 😊

Yes! While different liquid castile soaps can be similar, not all are created equal! We love sourcing an unscented/fragrance free castile soap so we can add our own essential oils to them (:

Are we supposed to add water to the soap before putting in the dispenser? What makes the Castile soap foam up?

This is great thanks! I do have one question though, why is it not necessary to dilute the essential oils in a carrier, unlike most other skin applications?

Great question, and thanks for watching! In this blend the Castile soap is the carrier, so the essential are well diluted in this foaming soap recipe (:

Wont the carrier oils eventually clog the foaming mechanism?

Great question! Over time the foamers can clog slightly, so we suggest running hot water through the mechanism in-between batches of soap. If it starts to clog before you run out, you can take a toothpick, or something with a small edge and clean gently clean out the opening. Because castile soap is so concentrated, adding a little bit of a carrier oil is a great way to help the soap from being so drying to the skin.
