Sounds good mate!!! All you need to do after is add a Highpass filter on the Mid Band (not sub) and Devious Machines Texture (or Erosion if you have Ableton and don't have Texture) for the high end.

Yo, this is a great tutorial! A few words of comment. 1) This sound translates wonderfully to higher octaves. I've started a few tunes with this as either a lead, or a repetive piece of ear candy, and of course as a full fledged bass. 2) This works well as a sustained note to capture all that movement and as a stab. Love it. 3) My patch came out with an incredibly intense percussive "kick" type of sound, and I'm unsure of where it came from. I brought the attack up quite a bit so it isn't a classic "sub click", and I took off all filters, FX, noise, sub, etc and got the bare patch. Still there. Just a word to others making this patch, turning my Serum down in volume helped a bit but it's still there. I suspect this kick-y element is what is making my stabs sound so good so... it all works out. Big ups to you dnb academy, you all kick ass.

Yes! I thought this was such an interesting concept to share in the creation of this sound. Maybe it'll help people think in a different way when using EQ+ Distortion

When you apply a low cut to the EQ to prevent the sub from being saturated, at what part do you add the sub back in? Do you just add a 2nd serum patch with just a sine wave?
@DNBAcademy3 жыл бұрын
You can low cut this patch again at the end of the chain and use a separate instance of Serum for your sub
@matthewagooden3 жыл бұрын
@@DNBAcademy would applying a band split eq in your post prcessing also solve this? or would adding a separate sub with its own fine tuned processing yield better results?
