She is pouring water in the wrong pipe first because part of the water drains in the drum and the rest goes back in the lake. She should have used the other pipe that leads only into the drum. This is just a siphon and not pump and not ram jet etc. The drums are used to prime the siphon system with water and then create vacuum as you open the lower tap. It is this continuous vacuum created by the out flowing water from the lowest point of the drum in to the field (by gravity) that maintains the flow in to the drum from the water pond. Dead simple. No need for complex theories. Just make your connections air tight to maintain the vacuum.

Thank you for your educational video and the comedy as well...I can tell its much love in the family. Do you have any videos that can help me. I have a rock sidewalk but it is unlevel and so is my front lawn on each side of sidewalk. Every time we get rain, especially if it's a down pour, the water stand at my concrete steps and porch, and stands against foundation of my home. I have thought about putting busting up the sidewalk near my step and installing a catch mason, then pour gravel or sand to make sidewalk more level, then underlying paper/plastic to prevent grass, the river rock all way the length of sidewalk with landscaping timbers on sides, then adding stepping stones......added drains 4-6ft each side of sidewalk for yard, having it all connected with 4in corrugated drain pipe, running to back yard near woodline with a pop-up outlet. Is there an easier way? Thanks

I think this is good method. Very important thing is open end of water pump level should be below than river water level. For that you can dig a deeper well also.

This kind concept is no need to use barrel drums , so only foot valve at the end pipe in river side and tee plus 50 cm vertical pipe with stop valve at the top curve of pipe line for filling warter at first start , and stop valve at the end pipe in outlet site , stop valve at the outlet side have to be closed during first filling water from the top curve vertical pipe. Outlet valve only be open if along the pipe has already full of water... Very simple

This is a siphon. You can use a simple tube instead. Source (river) MUST. be higher than output (rice field). This system can not lift water out of any well, it can not lift water! No barrel is needed, but can be practical. No vertical tube at the output is needed. Input and output diameter of pipes can be equal. It may be practical to lift the output a litle with a bend or dip the output into a bucket of water. This will prevent air to leak in from the output. Must be airtight! So why the fuzz with the barrel? 1) no valve at the start end is needed. 2) If there is a little air leak, the system will run for some time until there is too much air in the drum.

Bcs any of them are not engineers, do not have the technical education so they don't have clue about the terminology and science behind it. Therefore they confuse with pressure with speed high with volume and vacuum all randomly tossed. Hey guys there is something called science to explain complicated things in a simpler manner. But u must know this science. If u don't know and throw half knowledge into air things will look more complicated. It is better not to write if u don't know.
