Maybe some modifications had been made to that treadmill motor which he used as a generator to light that bulb and powered the 12v inverter. Treadmill motor used as generator can produced upto 120v DC depends how fast you spind it, so what is the voltage in powering the inverter which I expect the inverter would have go on smoking due to high voltage. We need more explanation in this project please.

1 electric hp is equall to 3hp gasoline. A 110/115 v/13 amp 3 HP motor rated @ 3600 rpm. Will power a 230v/ 50 amp/ 10000watt generator head @ full load. Your problem will be with coupling them together and start run with out the use of contactless connection between main power to motor and power from generater to motor. You can not short the house power with the generator power. A transmision transformer must be used.

These are two permanent magnet DC motors. The generator one is a higher voltage than the drive motor - that is the secret to its working and self-powering ability.
