SOOOOO here's what I have come up with and I need your guidance please to tell yes that will work or NO don't do that lol I am bringing a retired trashed old dresser back to life. I was hoping to post a couple pics, but I don't see where or how. I painted it and contemplating my next steps, I want to try the candle technique over it then apply the second paint color and once it is dry... hit it with stain.

After you apply the stain, do you have to put anything over the top of it for that protective topcoat, or is that an option? I was in my local hardware store, and they told me not applying anything over the stain could be an issue. They said when it gets humid out, the stain will become tacky. Any truth to this? Thank you very much, and great videos.

Do you do a light sanding between poly coats?

Oil or water based stain!
