Back in the 60s and 70s we just used cinder blocks. Just put a metal pipe through the hole in the block. Half blocks used for dumbbells. Also buckets with water, rocks or even iron and or lead worked well. Easy to make, and they did the job

This is A LOT cheaper. He also seems to live in a very rural area, maybe there are no places nearby that sell dumbbells or equipment. Online shopping might not really be an option for him.

It's like what I've made at my 3rd elementary school with my mum, the different is I used wood bar instead plastic or iron bar, I've not used cover over the cement & youtube at it's day not as popular as now. Now I'm at my last year as college student. 💪

It should have a covering of foam or thing like that in order to increase its life. Otherwise it may break on a slight fall to earth.

Got a creative idea kudos.....but When cement paste dry it will lose it's weight, make it less precise. Also you cannot put them down with force of own weight, they will brake.

ahhh i remember my high schools day where i live in dorm dont have any equipment, but not far from there have local house who he build are the fitness tools like this, and he just rent membership to people on dorm about $2 a month we can use all his equipment
