I made these this weekend and 5 of 6 family members prefer the traditional cinnamon sugar sticky buns over these. The ATK Ultimate Sticky Bun recipe is out of this world!! These chocolate rolls are rich and the chocolate flavor was of a stronger dark chocolate. These were good but they look better than they taste and I'm glad I tried them.

love this channel. A bit of healthy quick recipes whould be great as want to make most of these but not anytime except for big nights nevermindthe work. Quick healthy tasty daily recipes which I know you can do would be great.

Can someone explain the purpose of making a milk and flour paste if you are going to dissolve it afterwards?

The starch in the flour gets gelatenized and after that it'll be able to hold onto more moisture and makes the dough less dry and softer :)

2 questions food allergies: can you substitute almond/oatmilk for the dough? Instead of corn syrup, what else can you use?

If you like almond milk and oat milk favors you can substitute it for the milk but you can also substitute vegan margarine and water for the milk if you’d like to avoid changing the flavor. The dark corn syrup is there for the molasses flavor and stickiness, but you could use dark brown sugar to replace the brown sugar and the corn syrup with a little additional water. Hope that helps.

You can make it on a stove top in a small sauce pan. That's a tanzhong and you can look it up in many other recipes to make japanese style milk bread, ), it makes the bread retain moisture and not become dry so quickly. A shame they didn't give credit to the method tbh.

your microwaved dough paste was Japanese tangzhon - why didn't you acknowledge that? Instead, you give the impression this was your bright idea. I don't want to use the term "cultural appropriation" needlessly, but you make it necessary. Give credit where it's due.
