I love that industrial metal is creeping back into modern music... a lot of bands over the past 5/10 years have really embraced the sound even bands like Motionless and Bad Omens have used a lot of the genres styles in their music. This was really inspiring since I have been incorporating industrial metal into a lot of my music here lately, thanks man.

It sounds actually quite cool. I didn't expect triplet at first, but it works well. i'd actually like to try to mix it. May I ask you if you can send me each track of the project so I can try mixing it?

Very cool layering, but lacked flow. If you want a stomping beat, match it to a marching tempo. Much better as a how-to of getting a full spectrum of sounds creating a cohesive output.

You are really good at this. I think where you can make the most money is by making custom templates for each genre for every DAW. Kind of like what Choptones does for guitar tones. Please do this. I will buy it and I know many more will.

Thanks! I have been thinking about doing that actually. I just need to find the time because it will be a huge task figuring out how to do it for every DAW 😵‍💫

@@RichiiWainwright At least you can start with your own DAW. The beauty of the templates is that you have basically already "produced" the sound and it's up to the artist to come up with the chords, beats, melodies, and hooks. I think it's a fantastic idea to help people get familiar with how to produce music for each genre. I would buy it just for the learning value. I am a rock and roll guy and I only know how to produce one kind of sound. So this would be a great help to get my music modernized.

This is great -- I'm not a guitarist (30+ years on piano/synths, 20 on drums) and have been trying to nail some tones for this axe my father gave me. Funny that you used decapitator - first place I went with this thing. Anyway, I make some sub-genre of industrial (I think the kids call it electro-industrial these days? grew up on NIN and quake in the 90's.) -- what I find harder than anything is coming up with a name for my music. Spotify is soooo saturated and half the people with good names have terrible production quality... so annoying!

I know what you mean 😆 Spotify is so saturated it’s crazy. 50,000 songs are uploaded every day from what I heard. There’s so much noise to cut through. Do you have anything released yet?

@@RichiiWainwright not yet, but I've finished a handful of tracks. Still trying to come up with a group name - literally have spent a year trying to think something up I like. In that year I've been dialing in my critical listening/treating my studio space with very large porous absorption (had to go super deep to treat low frequencies). I am getting some good results -- also I think moving from Ableton to Cubase was a game changer. I still prefer some sound design capabilities in Ableton so I route it like an external instrument.

Definitely. Synths can be way more powerful. I often add bass anyway though and just take the low end out, so the synth can carry the low end but there’s still a bass guitar texture in there somewhere

It's not bad, but I think you're milking the same riff too much. Even the best riff in the world starts to sound bad if you use it (or variations of it) during the whole (or even most of) the song. I think you focused too much on making it sound "heavy", which you did a fine job at, and neglected making it sound complete (multiple riffs, having a breakdown section, etc.) As for more subjective comments, I personally wasn't a huge fan of the 3/4 time signature. I think for a genre like industrial metal 4/4 is virtually always best at inducing that urge to mindlessly bang your head to the beat. If you have a really good set of riffs and drum patterns to go with then you might be able to make other time signatures work, but unfortunately I don't think the riff in this video does the trick. I also thought the song was too digital and had too many synths, in relation to guitar and bass. On the flip side, I really enjoyed the guitar tones you showed off in the beginning of the video. Overall, I'd rate this a not-for-me/10

Thanks for the in depth review lol. I'm going for a repetitive/simple-but-effective vibe, like most industrial metal. It's also 4/4 timing not 3/4. 4/4 with triplets. Music is subjective. It's fine if this isn't for you. Just go watch the content you enjoy!

you are so wrong, no offense. Music is completely subjective, lots of the biggest rock tracks milk one riff for 3/4ths of the song sections, just played on different instruments most of the time.
