Hi! In today's video I am going to show you step by step how I alter a Little Golden Book and save the golden spine. I'm giving these Little Golden Books a new life so they can soon be ready for memory keeping, planning and documenting. The special feature about these LGB junk journals is the Golden Spine which I have left in place and without removing it or cutting it out. The little golden spine is an iconic feature which I've left as part of the junk journal cover. The Junk Journal cover measures about 8"x6" and the spine is 1".

When I have seen to a book I’m like I just can’t! But once you get bitten by the repurposed Little Golden Book bug you’re hooked! I was at a Goodwill looking for a little golden books and there was a book that a grandma wrote a nice little paragraph in it to her granddaughter. It was just a regular book. I had to buy it because my heart hurt knowing that that grandma took the time I got that book. I’m working on one for my son that turns 40 this year it’s a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Golden book and the Turtles turn 40 also this year. He’s been to a couple comic cons and got pictures with the voice actors, and got some of his turtles signed.

Thank you so much and Yes, I did point out the handwritten name in one of the books. I didn't get a chance to mention it however, I like to leave those hand written names intact. It is part of the books story and it adds a sense of nostalgia. Thank you for pointing that out. :)

Thank you for watching and following along. Make sure you gently score the inside creases of the spine. All three I created are staying closed. You can also tie a ribbon around to train it closed. I hope that helps.
