Pretty sure that's a game design choice they made. Some of us don't actually want connected glass textures, the glass lines are perfect for a more traditional looking window.

The normal glass texture without connection is pretty atrocious. And there are ways of implementing the options for both. It’s a no brainer addition. @@Snitram19

3:28 "[...] when you're loading in new chunks [...] it gradually fades into view" Alternatively, install the mod Chunks Fade In (or Chunk Animator for Forge) so that you don't have to use close fog to mask loading of new chunks in. You will instead have an animation play where they hover in from below as you get closer to them. It's also highly configurable. 3:56 "If you don't want OptiFine, bonus is, a mod that does [connected textures] does exist" Yeah, the Fabric variant is called Continuity, and requires Indium along with Sodium to function, should've probably mentioned that. 4:01 "How about a couple of addons that make Minecraft sound better, too?" The two mods you mentioned, Ambient Sounds and Presence Footsteps, can be combined into one - Dynamic Surroundings Remastered. Instead, you should've expanded on the category by mentioning Auditory - varying up block placement and breaking sounds - and ExtraSounds, adding much needed inventory item moving and hotbar scrolling SFX. Better Clouds is also unnecessary depending on the shader pack you're using. In fact, vanilla clouds can be turned off altogether to boost your performance slightly (if volumetric clouds are in use). Effective and Illuminations are two mods that add to the atmosphere with waterfall particles, underwater bubbles, fireflies, and other glow-in-the-dark particles. Visuality spawns raindrop splashes in water, and sparkles on sparkling blocks like gold.

Dynamic surroundings, extrasounds & effective are all unavailable on 1.20.1 which is why they weren't included Well technically, Dynamic surroundings is available again as of VERY recently but not at the time this video was made Also illuminations and effective were merged together and are now collectively a quilt exclusive mod so it's no longer going to be able to be used with the other mods here unless they work okay with Quilt and the qfapi

@@akwire4253 Dynamic Surroundings was released for 1.20 Fabric one day before the video was made. Fabric is ideally the modloader you should be using. But you're right, I neglected to mention not all of these mods are available for 1.20. I don't see why you'd update to the most recent version of Minecraft if you intend to play it modded. Each version has its "prime" for modding - it used to be 1.12.2, 1.7.10 before that - currently it's 1.19.2, or 1.16.5 if you want to go one version lower than that. I'd just cut my losses and play 1.19.2 until most mods were made available for the version I want. That's where my suggestions come from. Also, the Effective-Illumination merge has not gone through yet, I'm still using both mods myself. I'd wager a very small chunk of players actually play the most recent version. The video also doesn't mention for which version it was made so I just assumed it'd be the most popular one.

Thank you so so much, Ive been getting so burnt out on Minecraft and I've tried modpacks even with drastic changes in the game making you op and making the game not that hard to complete I mean for a very bad survival player like me it only took a day for me to complete the game, but what I like about this is that it gives the base game something more aesthetically pleasing and bareable so maybe ill be able to actually play the base game and have fun in it

good advice is also that if you have an nvidia graphics card you should use nvidium to make use of your graphics card memory to have like 256 chunk render distance

i would add mods that improved the vinilla experience, the only thing i would add is furniture mob if i'm feel like it and food mods. thats just me to have extra stuff i would like to suggested if you up for it, add in distance horizons which add LODs to minecraft

Another tip to not obliterate your frame rate with the bushy leaves pack is to also grab the 'Better fast leaves' resource pack (also on VanillaTweaks), that way you can have nice chubby leaves without suffering single digit frames when you enter a forest

Hey fabulous settings are totally worth it, it fixes transparencies and hardly costs any fps. Bubbles will appear behind glass correctly. If you have access to it, IK some mods disable it

I’m honestly not too sure on the pros and cons so I’d recommend having a look to see what would be better for you! I personally use Fabric as some of the mods I like to use require it :)

Theres a mod on modrinth called "Fog Looks Good Now" which makes fog look a lot nicer and is customizable. If you like how the fog looks in the video I think you will like that mod.

seed finders are solid too for the purpose of just finding one nearby. Make whatever filters you put remove any indicators of structures(this will spoil your experience of the world) then select meadows, snowy grove, any of the peaks biomes or the cherry grove in the biome filter and then reroll maybe 3-4 times and take the seed that's closest. It's best not to play with seed finders too much because the desire to optimize your seed becomes strong. You only really need it to be within 500 blocks to get a nice view. @@mikedergalev

What mod are you using to get the menu at 3:08? It looks like Sodium, but I'm using the newest version of Sodium and the menu doesn't give me nearly as many options, like fog distance. :(

It's Reese's Sodium Options (Tex's Embeddium Options if on Forge), would definitely recommend using it with Sodium Extra as well for more options.

I really don't understand why not just adding all of those things to normal Minecraft, but making sure that they are removable on the menu so that everyone is happy. It's a sandbox game, but not everyone has mods (bedrock edition players have to pay for terrible mods full of limitations), so Mojang has to work hard to add as many things as possible

I apologize for commenting this on "how to make minecraft look better" video but i really want to have something like "unfresh animations", because i find a lot of newer mobs "too animated", i just personally like the og stiff and robotic look old mobs have, and i think it would be cool if someone found a way to remove all the "unnecessary" and "un-minecrafty" animations from newer mobs, without ruining them, like the warden for example, you can't just delete it's animations and call it a day, because it still needs to portray when it's doing its sonic charge attack or when it gets angry, i feel like it has to be replaced with something else that fits more of an old minecraft look, but i personally don't know what this change should look like

Also I could say the same about models, I liked the old vex model, but instead of making an allay look like vex, they made vex look like the allay, which I'm personally not a big fan of. What would the modern mobs look like if they were made several years ago?

I was wondering, because it seems to be impossible to have ReplayMod with Optifine, but how people manage to shoot cinematic with KappaPT shaders (Ray Traced or Path Traced idk exactly but anyway) for instance, as they properly work only with Optifine, as far as I know@@ItsMarloe

1# install a shader you like 2# that's it Minecraft just absolutely NEED a shader to make the world to look more dynamic, pleasant and adventurous. Without it, it's just stiff blocks, nothing more! Nothing is feels alive in Vanilla and the point with “it should feel lonely” is so stupid, cuz every gamer is already lonely in RL

Not exactly, sorry! Bedrock Edition works a bit differently to Java and I’m not sure of any addons for it!

I don't understand the "Falling Leaves" thing. Today I hiked through a trail for 2 hours and I didn't see any falling leaves, and I was looking the whole time. It's *Spring* time and not Autumn, so of course leaves aren't falling all over the place nonstop. The problem with "Falling Leaves" mods is that they don't have any integration with seasons.

Shout out to 'Distant Horizons' to increase the render distance. Love to know what you're using here ItsMarloe. I know Bobby exists too but I couldn't get it to work for my single player world - I think it's more suited to servers.
