The best how to build a belt sander on youtube. No fancy lathes or milling machines. no welders. Just a drill a saw and a file. End result a practical do-able fine machine . i am so building one. many thanks for an excellent video.

Great job. As a suggestion, I would set the top roller back a little more so the belt runs along the vertical platen for it's entire length. As it is, when doing the grind on the long edge of your logo, the belt would put a curve on the top edge as it is pushed inwards toward the platen from the outer edge of the top roller.

Если собираетесь дальше использовать в работе, рекомендую доработать конструкцию установкой прижимной пластины из чугуна или керамической плитки, ибо лента у вас провисает, да ещё и под углом к вертикали. Также можно сделать кожух над мотором, иначе абразив может попасть внутрь. Сам давно хочу сделать мини гриндер, но видимо слишком сложную конструкцию придумал, продвигается медленно. А вы молодец!

Love this project. Two problems I can see with it though. 1. Is that there's nothing keeping the dust out of the motor, this can cause big problems down the road. 2. The upright platen is too far back, there's too much give in the belt and will make it so the top edge of whatever you sand to be more sanded then the bottom. You want the belt to be as close to the platen as possible to get as true of a 90⁰ flat sanding. Both are easily fixed. For the motor you just need a box with ventilation hole/slots in it on two sides and a filter covering them so air can still flow through the box but the dust particles can't. A piece of particle mask works well for this on this scale. For the belt being too forward you just need to drill the mounting holes a few millimeters further back so the leading edge of the belt wheel is a couple of millimeters in front of the upright platen. This will give you a truer 90⁰ sanding.

Lavoro molto preciso e pulito Ottime finiture Avrrei fatto i rulli leggermente piu piccoli di diametro in modo tale che il nastro resti piu a contatto con la lamiera Per il resto veramente un bel progetto È uno spettacolo vedere cio che crei. Sempre precisi e puliti, con finiture ottime. Sono quei piccoli dettagli che peró rendono un progetto piu professionale. Complimenti

Awesome. One suggestion though, the belt should be in contact with the backplate, you should have set the top and bottom rollers back a little, or set the backplate forward a little more.

Сделано СУПЕР ! Но маловат. Как руководство по изготовлению очень хорошее,но лучше сделать более крупный и с мотором 220 вольт. Требуется ещё подошва для ленты в месте обработки детали. Я использую кафельную плитку,она подходит просто изумительно. За изделие 5+++ !
