Who (or what kind of stats) should stick to the slow listing (and for how long)... and at what point can you accelerate that, and when do you need to slow it down? Thank you for another great video, I have been taking all your advice on board and watched nearly all your videos, I have just had a record month of 157 sales, usually get between 70-90, sales conversion 10.4%, this is mainly following your advice, ie the 100+ sales, listing 2 to 3 items daily, finding my niche and concentrating on that, just trying to work on branding but I seem to be doing ok, repeat customers, star seller status, great reviews … all good and getting better thanks to your invaluable videos 🙏 thank you again, by the way I sell handmade cards

I've been so busy since October (shop stuff and I decided to paint the kitchen and livingroom, ha) that I've had zero time for SM...you know, it had no effect on my sales. I have made friends over there so eventually I'll spend a little time there, but I'll focus more on branding as you say. All of my graphics were done in 2003, so I think this year my daughter is going to spiff them up for me. We will keep the colour scheme and key elements, but a cleaner font and crisper design. Customers will still know it's me when they see it, but it's time after 20 years.

Question: Would you recommend setting up my own website at the same time as I open my Etsy store? If not how long should I wait to do that? I saw your video on making sure Etsy isn’t the biggest part of your earnings pyramid. I had planned on waiting a little to open a website as well as it seems a bit daunting to open them both at once.

Hi Nick, another invaluable video. I've been taking your advice for 6 months now. I have just over a 100 listings and I've just passed the 100 sale mark. When do you think is a good time to start scaling my store? For example, listing 2 or more a day instead of just 1?

When I started out everyone kept saying I have to really push SM. I would get views but no sales and it makes sense because friends will look but not in the market to buy. I'm getting better at the items at the top of the pyramid and will continue to improve.

Great constructive and useful information. For handmade products such as candles, do you recommend : niching down as well, or producing for mass market ex. Funeral, bridesmaid, engagement, birthdays...etc. or would you choose one niche and have SOME candles and bring a product mix? Your recent video explains finding a niche, but I honestly have difficultly niching down to one customer with candles only.

Thank you for your time! I'm doing my best to "brand" my shop's main page to better cooperate with possible buyers (main banner, logo, announcements, the stores' info). However, I know that most buyers tend to purchase directly from item pages (also, they don't use promo codes, bundling offers, etc..), especially for low-cost digital items like mine. Do you believe it makes sense to enhance your shop's main page and make announcements to highlight special offers or updates? Or is it only relevant if you have a lot of admirers? The "Brading" item's page with "special" promotional photos looks more substantial.

Hi useful video as always... wanted to ask, if a listing doesn't renew. Does it retain any views and favourites data if you let it expire but renew it later on. Was thinking I'll renew stuff that sold but things that didn't, just let them expire and then review and maybe renew later on after updating them

Quick question: If I book a consult. The quick one. Will you look between two shops? I have an established one. But after working to get my branding. Etsy won’t let me change my name again. So I opened a new shop with my correct branding. I am in process of moving things over. So the new shop doesn’t have a lot in it and I’m keeping the old shop open until I get the new shop up to par.

I Agree Branding is everything and is trust. As a seller less than a year on Etsy that actually sells Branding Kits I still struggle so much to be seen. I’ve Helped shops with custom Etsy kits that completely changed their store yet … Am I just not in the right niche?

Hello lovely! I wanted to ask you about my shop that is soon 9 years old. So I have a shop since 2015. I have had over 6500 sales there and hundreds of excellent reviews, I knitted and crocheted and sold baby photo accessories until covid hit the world. After that my shop has been open but without any listings. I want to “reopen” it but with other items now. I want to sell crochet items and patterns. Is it ok to do it from my excisting shop where I have hundreds of beautiful reviews about my other handmade items already that were related to my work I am doing now? Is there any benefit from those reviews and trust I have built during many years previously or should I start a new shop and try to built it from zero? Thank you so much!

I've got one question regarding branding, I've opened my etsy store about 4-5years ago and I've gave it a name that was responding to the stock I was selling at the time, shop didn't work to well so after a year I've stopped using it, 3 years ago I've got back to it, removed all old listings and started listing new completely different stock, in couple years I've managed to get almost 6000 sales and following your advice I've decided to build a website so can divert all SM traffic to it. Etsy shop is still working quite well but I'm thinking of changing the shop name on etsy so it corresponds with my website outside etsy, could you advice if it's a good idea to change the etsy store name, can it make some negative impact on my etsy sales? I noticed one of the other KZfaqrs said to list each variation of your product on your Etsy store. For example, a separate listing for the black colored shirt and another separate listing for the white colored shirt and on and on. Is this really the right way to go?

There is a video, on here, Nick, from just last week, where one of the girls who does Etsy videos, she showed where those tools are so inaccurate, every one of the tools failed. She was shocked, herself, to see how bad the accuracy really is with them. It was quite an interesting video. All I can say is look for Tia. Every time I ever watch someone else, who talks about Etsy, which isn’t very often, I think of your words. Also, another girl came on, she is the girlfriend of a big POD guru, and she said the same things you were saying about those tools, and her boyfriend pushes those tools in most of his videos. She was actually disgusted by all the gurus pushing those tools. She told the truth, that you don’t need them, they aren’t accurate and the only reason these gurus make videos is because they make money from those tools and their horrible courses.

Is it okay to remove a bulk of listings on etsy that are not selling or revise them and add new keywords etc ?

I watched your video on a dead store the other day, how long would you give a re-start of a dormant store to see if it's succeeding? I started to pull back in 2019, and it sat until Sept 2023. I just started watching your videos and I'm halfway through 150 listings changing the SEO (your 10 min video), and I work on a few a day, plus I'm regularly listing new items. I had a few sales when I first restarted but nothing for a while, is it because I'm changing so many things? How long should I wait to see results from changing SEO?

How bad is it if you make one of a kind items. List it quantity of 1 it sells out and now does Etsy down rank you?? Should you use old sold out listing for a different item. The listing has a history like views and sales. What is the best way to go about this

Pretty sure this is a scam, but wanted to let you know if it is for others to be careful. 10 minutes after uploading a digital item, I get an Etsy message from a "customer" saying they want to purchase and is the (digital!!) item still available... I reply instantly and expain how to add to cart etc. They then send a photo that looks like it's from Etsy saying they need the seller's email address. I gave it to them and then I get an email from an Icloud email and the email looks like Etsy telling me to click a link to settle a procurement and that the customer has scheduled the payment and needs me to verify. I didn't click and immediately deleted email and Etsy messages... Would rather be safe then sorry...

On SEO my question is can one do a title with no commas to get all the use of characters? Also if you have the same product with different visuals can you use the same title but mix up the describing words? And one more, is it smart to put what the item is at the start of the title or the variation? Or does it matter? Some folks say the first few words are the most important, is that so? Gotta put out more listings. Do you think 15 per month is a good amount (including a couple of duplicates with edited titles/photos/descriptions/tags)? I have a custom art shop selling miniature paintings and small prints, trying to make my art more giftable and working on my branding this year too.
