You are amazing! If someone was vegan or vegetarian you could still make this with unsalted vegan butter and almond milk. the meringue if vegan you can drain the juice from chickpeas and put into the bowl add sugar, vanilla and cream of tarter and it makes an amazing meringue. Happy Holidays to you and your family. I enjoy watching your videos.

I can't wait to try your recipe. I love banana pudding. I just have to set side the time for stirring and using the double boiler which was dedicated solely for Banana pudding by Mama. Do you know how many folks who don't know any better would have got their electric hand mixers out? Wrong! Even an old manual hand turning mixer back in the day was looked at sideways. Lol! I love that you showed how to use your hand to separate your egg yolks. Folks are so scared to get their hands into the food. It's common sense, you wash your hands before & throughout the whole food prep process. No one should have to say, I washed my hands, right? One of my dearly departed Aunties use to make/mix her cakes by hand; no spoon, just her hands and eyeballing. The best cakes ever! When I think back on the honor and great privilege I had to be in the kitchen with these Phenomenal Woman, my Grandmother (Big Mama born in the 1880's), Mama & my Aunties dropping cooking gems as they taught & shared with me, I know now what I didn't realize then, I was truly Blessed. People, This is how things are done from scratch--with love, with the heart of the ancestors who taught you, with pure soul & thoughtfulness, with the best ingredients, and with constant, careful attention on the glorious creation you are preparing for your loved ones. My Mama from the N.E. Texas/Ark/Louisiana (TexArkAna, the 3 states) Region, was known for her famous Banana pudding plus other desserts. From a little girl that was one of my jobs stirring the pudding over a double boiler. And, YOU are absolutely RIGHT you DON'T EVER go the CHEAP route with your ingredients for desserts or other food dishes. That's ONE of the many reasons why historically African American Desserts/Dishes stand out among the rest. It is good to see your family recipes are being preserved via video for the generations to come. The one on one teaching in the kitchen is sometimes impossible with our busy schedules and the mind occupying tech gadgets of the youth. However, every grandmother, mother, auntie, sister, & daughter worth her salt in the kitchen should take out her smart phone or camera and record her family recipes to leave as a priceless legacy to her family. If your desserts and meals aren't being applauded by those who dine at your table, you need to get some relatives on the phone & ask for help. Folks should be talking about your dishes. I remember when I was 18 or 19 and the pastor & wife in their late 40's or early 50's during the closing prayer would ask God to touch Sis. So&So, the Sweet Potato Pie Queen (me) to make him a Sweet Potato Pie while his wife would jump up and down saying, "Yes, Lord, you can taste the butter, the cream, the vanilla, the cinnamon & nutmeg. Yes, Lord!" Lol! I can still remember a church woman's dressing that I ate over 45 yrs ago when our church visited her church about 120 miles away. Every time I make dressing to this day or even talk about dressing, I mention that Sister's dressing. My auntie--a great Master Queen in her own right--who also ate some of that dressing, and I came home trying to re-create it; we came very close. I have to give the woman her due respect, she's a Boss Queen. (But, you know what, I think I have it now. ) That's how your food and desserts should have a profound effect on people. Never settle for mediocre. Knock it out of the park Every Time you step into your kitchen. And you haters & ingredient critics feel welcome to visit but mind your manners or feel free to go hang out on the vegan channel with your foolish comments. SoulfulT, Keep on cooking, Girl. Keep those recipes coming. Your Ancestors are With YOU & are Proud. Much Love and Respect, 👑 Queen.

Looks GOOD! I use the Jack's vanilla wafers. They are good, too!!!! GIRL, you KNOW you throws down!!! You can separate the eggs, too, using a water bottle. I found it on facebook and it works!

I’m a cook, but I just love watching your videos. Your spirit is so sweet and I love the interaction you have with your son and the viewers. I’m like you, I like my meringue stuff as well, but not overly sweet. Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Gurl!!! U made the best that I've seen in a long time! U did ur thing cuz most women of ur age r too lazy 2 do it like we older women do it! I was disgusted when I saw the Braxton ' s & even Rick Ross ' s girlfriend use instant pudding & Kool whip! Men should be beating down ur door 4 cooking like that, but then again too many of their young butts take those non good cooking broads! Real women cook like old women! Plain & simple. Proud of u young girl & I'd pay 2 eat @ ur house than @ a 5 star restaurant! I am now subscribed 2 ur channel.😊

vewashin I don't know the Braxton ' or Rick Ross ' s girlfriend dumbass. If they wanted 2 learn the correct way, they would have learned because it's not foreign in the black community!

k grace It is definitely the lazy way using box pudding! I have been guilty of it myself and I'm 54..😳 Nothing like the homemade version though much better taste! Just the way momma use to make! 😊

k grace not every single person in the black community or any community knows how to make this, "the right way." Also not everyone has the time to do this or sometimes can't..for various reasons. But I'm pretty sure when they told you to stop judging and teaching, they were referring to "these young girls" you mentioned.

you can also use an empty water bottle to suck the egg yolk out of the white. pinch the air out the bottle then put it on the yolk and release the bottle to suck the yolk up.
