I made paper beads using adult coloring book pages and turned my beautiful coloring artwork into a few tube beads. After it dries, I painted the edges of the beads in gold acrylic paint

And if you use permanent markers. It will bleed through the paper. Gives you a different look on the back of the paper. Looks watercolor or tie dyed. Some of them if you use glitter ✨ pens will leave a glittery look. And I used modge podge high gloss instead of nail polish. Also if you just used plain white watercolor painting paper. Paint on modge podge. Wait till it gets tacky. Then apply nail art . Be careful rubbing it to hard. Because it can smear. Gently pull off. A beautiful design will transfer onto your paper bead. Wait till it dries before applying any more modge podge for top coat. I used a skewer sticks to make my beads. And I could make a big bunch at the same time to decorate and dry. Have fun and be creative 😊

You can also use an embossing pad and roll the paper bead on the embossing pad, sprinkle with clear embossing powder and then emboss with heat gun. Do multiple layers (5-6) and it makes a beautiful glass-like bead when your done. No waiting for glues to dry.

I draw the lines on the plain side in the back because they will be on the inside. I also use PC pertrier and then polyutenthane minwax clear gloss or you can use a matte or semi gloss. It hardens the beads and makes it water proof. I don't add glue until the last inch in case I need to adjust it and no need for glue bumps. Nail polish fogs up and chips after a while. You want years of wear. I also dont fold over the beginning. I use a bead roller because its sloted. Use a cardboard box... Styrofoam or do what I did and get some wood and tea cup screws and build a bead drying rack. Hang them with fishing string and allow then to drip dry. That bracelet is cut but you can see where the paper was unravelling. You want it smooth and tightly secured. Use the minwax and or pcpetrifier. Amazon or eBay. Same place you can get the roller.

So how’s the best way to seal these so they can get wet, or is there a way? I don’t understand how you can keep the inside dry, colluded you wrap it around an ordinary bead to help with the inside, or has anyone tried that? Can you start with wrapping the small end and go to the larger end and add glue just to the last bit? I’m just new to this I’ve never heard of paper beads

You'll probably need a smaller width of triangle strips as the bottom side length of the paper is your starting point for the length of the bead

i wouldn't fold over the paper before you start to roll it… and i wouldn't suggest using nail polish as the "glaze"… it'll let the bead stay mushy/soft under it. if you just Judi-Kins Diamond Glaze, and do at least 1 coat, maybe 2, it'll stiffen up and be hard…. be sturdier. also you can use Glossy Accents you can glaze it with later with sparkly nail polish to jazz it up, but i wouldn't only use nail polish. also, it may chip too and put your bead at risk of exposing it to water (if you have to wash your hands and you're wearing it as a bracelet…. not good to get soft, mushy beads and have them fall apart.) IDK over all I'm not sure I'd follow 1/2 of these instructions. I love their designs on this 'page'/'site' but…. no no no to a lot of these instructions - as you see.. if you use Mod Podge as "glaze" i would use the Glossy kind
