Never tried raw banana palya for dosa. I love millets. As children we grew up eating ragi, saamai and navane which we grew in our fields. We continued to eat ragi as staple food but gradually ither milkets disappeared. In tye recent years they have come back but the challenge was to use them to make variety of dishes. Your channel gives us many options to make regular south indian dishes using millets. Options like raw banana replacing potato palya is a bonus. Thank you Dr. Sarala for simple and well explained healthy recipes. I am making this tomorrow and am sending the recipe to my daughter to make for my grandsons.

Anusha Reddy No In idli dosa etc we are not getting any probiotics as we are heating after fermentation and that is why consuming ambali at least twice a week is very important We will however get the products of fermentation which are also good for us

gurvinder kaur I hope you are allowing the dough to rest for 4 hrs at least This helps to make the roti soft. Also u need to use a Hugh flame and flip the roti quickly from side to side on the tava And immediately transfer to a hot box You can also add cooked and mashed pumpkin /raw banana for softness

Try adding yougurt in it an apply ghee/oil on outer side of dough after kneading before keeping overnight. Also as soon as you take the roti away from fire apply ghee on it. It will soak up ghee and will become very soft when you will serve.

Siri Dhananjay I don’t think that there are appropriate words for many of our expressions in English , therefore the reference as sabzi , which i think is understood by a broader audience . Yes aloogadde palya it is , for us Kannadigas, but the intention is that more people from outside as well enjoy our traditional dish .
