How to make Plant Based Vegan Sausages | Soy Free

PLANT BASED SAUSAGES
Begin by chopping your brazil nuts and farro in a food processor before adding the other ingredients
Ingredients:
1 cup of cooked white beans
1/2 cup of cooked farro ( if you want the sausages to be gluten free substitute farro for wild rice)
1/4 cup of Brazil nuts
1/2 cup of chopped brown onion
1/2 cup of mushrooms
3 chia eggs (3 tbsp of the ground chia seeds + 1/4 cup of spring water)
1 tbsp of tomato paste
2 tsp of all purpose seasoning
1/2 tsp of jerk seasoning www.myalche.co...
2 tbsp of creole seasoning
Once you have added all the ingredients into your food processor chop them
Only pulse / chop, rather than run the machine continuously as you want the ingredients to retain texture rather than turning into a paste.
If your mixture is too sticky add a bit of flour ( we used 2 tbsp of quinoa flour )
Add the mixture into the refrigerator for 30 minutes
Form the sausages with your hands
Once formed, roll the sausages in parchment paper and twist the ends to secure the sausages
Place the wrapped sausages in a steamer basket/pan and steam for around 35 minutes
Once cooked, you can serve immediately, pan-fry or even grill for a crispy result!
After steaming the sausages you can also refrigerate overnight and they'll become more firm in texture

Thank you for this amazing recipe. Tastes so good. Mine falls apart despite refrigeration. I used flax eggs because i had no chia seeds. Does that make a difference?

How long do the sausages last in the refrigerator? Would you recommend freezing?

After steaming them, you can keep the sausages wrapped in the parchment paper and store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days! We haven’t tried freezing them yet but parchment paper doesn’t stick so you should have no problem storing them in the freezer as well! 😊

I Got rid of my 3 cup kitchen mate food processor as it aggravated the hell out of me. I think your videos are very smart -- Why didn't you make the vegan BBQ Ribs in similar fashion, ( steaming) there's a Doctor on youtube who does alot of nutrition she says using excessive heat kills food nutrition. While I like your vegan drumsticks video, instead of bamboo, I would opt using celery stick, or hearts of palm as a mock bone. Also enoki & oyster mushrooms -- the repeated frying & Air frying kinda seemed counter - productive nutrition wise. Say If you use: young jackfruit, mushrooms, nuts or seeds, I might have added dehydrated yellow pea protein scrabble, any beans. Faux meat mince can have soooo many healthy ingredients. I just stay away from vital wheat gluten & tofu. KZfaqr Grubanny loves his white kamut, chickpea flour-(vegan egg), hey millet is healthy so is split mung bean-(egg substitute). I love that you steamed the vegan sausage because boiled water is 212° degrees of heat cooks leaving some nutrition; then a brief Sautee to brown the edges crispy seems very very healthy. Why not change the seasonings (I intend on getting two from your website) using the same method you did for the Vegan Sausage (steaming to set & afterward lightly sautee) preparation for vegan Burgers & Ribs, sautéing for cold cuts do you think it would work??? !?!
