Follow along in this tutorial to learn how to make raised panel cabinet doors in SketchUp. I cover a ton of tips and tricks along the way, like how to use the Solid tools to trim components, or how to use intersect faces to create the same result if you're using SketchUp Free.

I'm a Art Director in the feature film industry ,and we run across these kinds of builds frequently. We uses Sketchup Pro for almost everything we do, and I got to say, this was a ton of resource material in a very short time.Thank you my friend !

Once again, another really well made and clear video. Interesting for someone from IKEA-land to see that Americans still appear to make cupboard doors using real wood as opposed to mdf etc.Thanks.

I think you mean to say SketchUp Free. I'm pretty sure dashes are a Pro feature only. You can assign dashes to Tags.

I’m a professional cabinetmaker using sketchup for everything and raised panel doors are the most time consuming element to make. I really like the new scale tool you showed at the end. Does that change the size of other “door” components shush that I should make that a unique component to make a different door size? Is there a way with components and the feddo scale tool to be able to replace that sticking and panel profile with something different? How can I edit one door and have the rest of the doors change. Particularly important is that only the inside edge and panel profile change. Often times there are different sized rail and stile widths throughout an entire kitchen project. Any ideas?

Hi William! Fredoscale will automatically make the component unique when you use it, so you don't have to do that manually. Regarding changing profiles out, you're suggesting a scenario where you have multiple doors of different sizes, but all the same profiles, and you're looking for an easy way to swap out the profiles? You can do that with Profile Builder 3. It's a paid plugin, but it's my favorite. Luckily it literally just went on sale for 50% off. As a cabinetmaker, I think you'll find it to be really valuable. mastersketchup.com/profilebuilder

MasterSketchUp interesting. I’ll need to check that out. I had a really old free version of profile builder but it stopped working. It wasn’t worth it just for the mouldings yet but if it can do frame and panel profiles, that would be awesome. SU is fantastic for me since I can know everything about a project before I build it since I physically draw it. Making changes is annoying though when I have to change so many components to make a cabinet 3” bigger. Ah, but that Fredoscale may be able to help with that too, depending on the scenario.

William Butler Hi there, if I may but in here, try Cabinetsense. I just started to use it and it is awesome! It also exports to cut list plus and to a CNC if you like.

After I trim the first stile on the top rail, following your instructions it won't let me do the other side. It tells me the rail is not a solid. I did create it as a group. Thoughts?

I am trying to make the arc to create the panel however I get an error saying the number of segments is too large for the given angle and radius. And insight?

Ok i figured it out, I just made it slightly bigger. How would apply this technique to an arched panel?

Learned some from watching, but way too much time spent on your face instead of the model you were working on. Had to pause numerous times to catch what you were doing. Will look for different content creators for my next tutorial. No offense meant, just an area you could improve upon.
