For dioramas and scenes, you can use it from terrain animation. Without using an airbrush, we paint and weathering only with acrylic paint. I hope you like this video where I explain brick wall construction, painting and weathering processes.

I use a lot of rulers. Which one are you talking about 😊 I think it's an angle ruler. A small and angled version of the T ruler used in architectural drawings
