What your insole cardboard does is give more stability to your footwear especially if you are using a cut out sole. So I will say that if you want to add insole cardboard, you can and if you don't, no problem. What have found out is that creating a brand for yourself matters a lot. Have seen some brands whose insoles are as high as 10mm so your insole thickness can be relative to your brand too. For the style, it's a 2mm EVA foam and insole cardboard
