How to make seamless liveries in iRacing and Photoshop

I have seen some questions about this recently on the subreddits for iRacing and sim racing so I thought I'd post this

Thank you for putting this together. I've been doing all my line work & logo management in Illustrator with links to Photoshop, but this may get me to use Photoshop more. That puppet tool is so handy!

I too use a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop. Most of my schemes and templates are done in Photoshop but vector logos as smart objects from Illustrator is a game changer. I also often will import something into Illustrator (to expand or shrink a path for example) and then import it back to Photoshop. The paint I'm most proud of that I've done is my Mopar camo SLM. Every bit of the camo lines up, but I didn't want to do a lot of warping and such as I wanted to keep everything nice and crisp so I just would by hand redo all the camo near all of the seams. It took a long time but the end result was worth it.

Excellent video. They likely won't ever do it, but the entire headache of lining up edges and warping layers would be completely gone if iRacing made the meshes corresponding to the UVs (i.e., the car's body) a part of their templates. Just imagine what it would be like to use a program like Substance Painter to get perfect lines every time, AND symmetry for non-brush layers.

Unfortunately there just isn’t a way to do that given the complexity of the shape. The UVs they make are very good and consistent WRT compression, symmetry and stretching which is the greatest priority so they could be a lot worse.

Thank you so much for this video. I have just a problem for this on the rear bumber with the AMG. because the bumber makes such a huge curve. Can you make a Tutorial for the Rear-Bumper? :D

You don't explain what buttons or anything you're hitting in photoshop, you don't explain the model viewer or the python script you're using to update the files. This video is just watching you do something with zero explanation. the first 5 mins you are already putting graphics on a car model without explaining anything.

You can’t really expect someone to explain 30 years of Photoshop and 3D experience, can you? 😂 that would require a video of at least a few years (assuming he slept, ate, and did some other things during the past quarter century).
