In this video series, I walk you through step by step how to paint your own unique and one-of-a-kind paint to use on iRacing. Don't be afraid to give it a try, it's not complicated!
Part 1 - The Basics - In this video, we will start with the iRacing UI. I will show you how to download the template, where to store it, and tricks for organizing your files for future expansion. Once the template is downloaded, we use Adobe Photoshop to find a "Car Pattern" that we like, extract the individual layers, and customize them to our liking. Along the way, I show you a neat trick to create a "hotkey" so you can see your progress in real time using the iRacing UI Car Viewer. Once complete, we save the finished file, and upload it to Trading Paints. That's it, you're now ready to take to the track in your own custom paint that sets you apart from everybody else!

Wish you would have explained a bit more on why you did some things. Do we have to do all that red green blue stuff with coloring those elements black if we're not using a pattern?

@The Bearded Genleman When I try to add colors its not separating the colors per pattern on car . Ive played video back ten times and deleted my work and started over ............

i wish i knew what my hang up was, i follow step by step, i dont get the same results. this last time, it outlined instead of filling...idk, i'll keep at it, i like the videos tho, its just me. lol

My template for some reason does not have the channel tab

What version of Photoshop are you using? The "channels" tab is within actual Photoshop, not the template layers. On my version of PS I see three tabs roughly in the middle on the right side: "Layers", "Channels", and "Paths". That's where you can grab the Red, Green, and Blue you see me get in the video. Let me know if you have trouble and I'll check further for you.

@@TheBeardedGentleman 2015 I use I managed to fudge a car together in the end using your videos even managed the spec map. Thanks so much I tried gimp but I was more used to ps
