HOW TO: Make SKULL PENS with POLYMER CLAY! +Marble effects!

I absolutely love making pens with polymer clay, it's fun to do, they are one-of-a-kind work great for that special present and they are definitely a conversation starter! This video is going for a Halloween dark look with a splash of a new technique that I've not done on my channel before!
Marble effect polymer clay is such a cool effect, and it looks so good on pens!

Baking Polymer Clay:
UK instructions for baking- it's all in Celsius not Fahrenheit, which is why I don't always quote times & temperatures. I recommend using Polymer Clay packet instructions. However, a good tip is to bake no higher than 100 degrees Celsius. It's better to bake at a lower temperature for longer, than higher for shorter.
Larger clay items need longer- always check after 10 mins- sometimes things fall over in the oven & can be rescued at this point. Watch for burning! Especially white as it's quick to burn (don't know why...) and can turn yellow!
Once out of the oven wait for it to cool before thinking it's baked- if it feels soft to touch, you can poke a fingernail in it or a fingerprint, back in the oven it goes!
Electric ovens work better as the temperature is even, gas oven temperatures fluctuate do not keep a steady temp for baking polymer clay.

I love the black and white ones reminds me of howlite stone, a sister to turquoise. lol but then I love the other one. They are both beautiful colors, even the skulls are cute, (I don’t do Halloween) lol they are all fun pens. Tfs hugs from across the pond.

Yeah we don't celebrate Halloween like the US does, I was in Oklahoma/Texas way back in September 2003 and it was like Christmas for Halloween- even banks had decorations, over here- not so much. Our next celebration is guy falkes on November 5th - lots of fairgrounds pop up & fireworks too - looking forward to that 🎆 ♥️

@@GailJonesPolymerClay isn’t October 31 the kind of 4th of July for y’all, I was there many moons ago for a 2 yrs stent back when my ex was in the Air Force, (shhhh 1980) lol but my mind is a bit fuzzy on that, I know the kids next door invited us over for fireworks, they didn’t tell us about the indoor fireworks.🤣🤣🤣 to fun. I remember the kids also carving pumpkins out of sugar beets. Also found that strange. lol they told me they have done it for yrs. I found the education of the British ways fun to learn. But even as a child I don’t remember being that into Halloween, don’t know what the change was that took place from the ohhh goody candy to the I have no interest, I’m sure 90% of it had to go back to my mom. (Let’s just say she wasn’t nice most of the time) I do remember her eating a candy bar in front of me and saying I couldn’t have any because I was to hyper. Still don’t know when I was hyper even today I can fall asleep at a drop and caffeine don’t even help keep me up. 🤣🤣 oh well I do love the tradition of the UK for some holidays. Thanks again for sharing. 💜

Just the mouth of the skull.. all my tools mark the clay slightly differently, so I had to use lots of different ones as I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I wanted just the right look...

@@GailJonesPolymerClay no I meant on the pen itself. The skulls were fine, I saw everything you did to them, it was when you were doing it with the pens I thought you were putting hash tags, but it looked better when you got it a little closer to the camera at the end. Better than the hash tags I thought you were doing. 🤔😄
