Try my this recipe, you will really like it. No need for any rice or Poha. Idli came out super. What a soft, cotton-like texture. Loved it. The chana dal addition made it ferment faster. The idli recipe just got it right after so much experiment. Recipe: 2 Cup Foxtail millet or millet of your choice. 1 Cup additional millet cooked. 1 Cup Urad dal. 1/4 cup chana dal 1Spoon methi seeds. Salt to taste. Soak the millet and the urad dal adding water to the same level of the dal and millet. When soaked for 30 mins add a little extra water as the dal would have swelled up. After 2 hours grind the dal and millet into a thick paste in a wet grinder. Add cooked millet and 1/2 cup water and grind into a thick paste. Allow it to ferment the whole night. After fermentation add 1 spoon salt or as required. Make idli and enjoy with hot sambar or chatni or molagai podi. Yum 😋

I have sorghum, pearl miklets and they're super big how can I grind them. Mixi won't be able to do the task I think

Thanks for recipe ma'am Nowadays trying all possible dishes from millet specially roti are coming wonderful & light but my only concern is how to store , purchase & plan meal all 3 meals using all 5 positive millets if you can give us a session on it it will be so helpful ma'am looking forward for your precious video thanks in advance ma'am

*You should not add salt before fermentation, it will kill microbes. Hence, add salt just before steaming iDli..*

Can we prepare millet idli without Urid Dal, as Urid Dal it highly acidic and very bad for health. So is there is any alternative to Urid Dal to prepare Idlis. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

Thanks for the recipe mam.... But once the idly is done ... I feel the rawa is not cooked properly. When I chew a grain of rawa or so it's not properly... What might be the mistake in the batter

Can we drink all plant based milk at night before going to sleep instead of cow milk bcoz I am working women cant get time to prepare in the morning or afternoon. Hello mam my son (3.5 year) is recently diaganosed with fatty liver and slightly wheat allergy and lemon allergy doctor suggested not to eat fermented food like idly dosa and lemon juice, sour fruit and food. How i introduce him millet to heal him i can not give him millet fermented kanji what should i do. And we live in rajasthan how to give millet 3 times a day they create heat in body..people says over consuming millet is not good..

Make juice with these three ingredients carrot Beet root and a small peice of guava or amla. 150 to 200 ml of this juice on empty stomach daily morning for two months
