I have subscribed, Liz, and I love your channel. I have a PVN and a jade (Crassula ovata) that I overwatered and they naturally protested by dropping petals. I don't have the solutions you've used, but just plain water and succulent potting mix (Fert-Lome brand). I'm going to use the opportunity to propagate! I have the petals on top of the soil of another plant, a Traveler's Palm that I got from Urban Tropicals out of Hampton, FL. A couple of the petals have not only rooted, but have actually started the embryonic stages of another plant in their usual pattern of growth. I have them in direct morning sun only on my east facing patio. When I feel like they're ready, I'm actually planting them in their own soil in plastic containers with holes in the bottom that I've fashioned out of water cups (I am creative, aren't I?). I also have an overgrown and fractured and fragmented Graptopetalum (not sure of the species) that was given to me by a co-worker who just didn't know what to do with it. I'll follow the same pattern of propagation with it as well. Wish me luck!

Hi, Liz - thanks for your wonderfully entertaining tutelage on growing and propagating succulents. I am really new at this and have just recently subscribed, so I realize my questions so long after this post might not be seen. However, I am fascinated by your seawater emulsion for rooting new cuttings. I’m in NW Washington, USA, and am curious about sourcing that product. Is it the same as the fish oil fertilizer we use here on the other side of the world? I’ll keep watching with smiles and a warm heart even if you don’t see this. Hugs🤗

If there's no roots and freshly cut, I usually put it on top of soil with some rocks on top to separate the wet soil from the plant. Put toothpick around to hold it in place and wait. After 4 weeks, it should grow some roots. Good luck!

I couldn't find a soil wetter here in North Florida so I went on EBay and bought some SeaSol and had it shipped from Australia. But it was really expensive and I'd love to learn how to make my own here because a hundred dollars a bottle is not what I can afford long term 😁. I really think you should be paid for selling it 😁 since you are the one that showed me the miracle of that for the roots on my babies. I had a problem with root fungus destroying the roots on my favorite babies and even though I managed to save the plants the roots were destroyed and I've been babying them until my SeaSol got here and I can say it's only been 4 days since it got here and it's amazing the difference it makes!!! My very first crested don't know what kind it is other then echeveria was the first plant to get this fungus? and it's been the first to get some SeaSol love and it's actually got new white roots and I'm so very very happy and it was well worth a hundred dollars to Buy sand ship that SeaSol here to Florida. Please send me detailed directions on how to make my own SeaSol like product please I don't understand what AGAR is because I'm kinda new to this stuff and not up on the jargon 😁

Everything always works for you. I have cuttings that won't grow roots. I have tried clonex it does nothing but take my money. I have a problem I hope you might answer. Why? would a succulent plant just start to go soft. No bugs soil is purlight and cactus mix.>
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 5 ай бұрын
Depends on variety, humidity, position, watering, soil and other unknown factors. Some can also be due to the strain of the plant and some cutting are cut too young or too close to the tip with no nodes. Nodes or hard tissue is where the roots will grow from. No enough watering can also make them go soft.

@@carmenaquimpo198 Depends on the plant. When the roots comes out that you're happy with, you can repot them and water straightaway if the soil is dry. But if the soil is moist, you can let it dry up a bit then water.

@GrowingSucculentswithLizK
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Жыл бұрын
Boa sorte!

Leave them on the surface without soil to dry up. You can use hairdryer to hasten the process. After a week, plant in dry soil. Then soak the pot halfway to encourage roots to form and go down. Good luck.

After the head cutting, let it callous for a couple of days and then, it can be planted even in moist soil. Water when the pot feels light, or the soil dries up. Please take note to never pull the plant out of the soil to check if roots have grown. 😁 Happy growing. 🥰

They don't rot because it's overcast... For a lot of succulents, continued overcast days contain a lot more moisture in the air(high humidity), therefore they don't need watering, unless the plants really needs it. They prefer to be watered at night during their growing period.
