This idea of making my own DIY rod carrier has been running in my head for awhile to protect my valuable salt water rods, at first i was thinking of spray painting in black then using templates of leaves or fish in silver and spray the templates in different patterns but watching your video makes it much cheaper and i like it, thanks for this great idea, Peace.

You can also use acetone (or nail polish remover) to wipe the ink right off of the pvc. I realized this after using super glue to seal the cap and adapter (pvc glue is unnecessary); the ink started to run.

Some vacuum cleaner stores that sell parts for a central vacuum systems have pvc tubing that is thinner than the pvc that is used for plumbing. I buy 5 ft lengths for $4.35. It is 2" vacuum conduit.
