These vanilla cupcakes will blow your mind! I know this is a strong statement but they are so moist and bursting with vanilla flavor, you just won’t believe it!
They’re nothing like those dry ultra fluffy bakery cupcakes they make you sad and full of regret, these are worth it! A bit of advice on the ingredients. You can get the cheapest flour, sour cream, milk and even butter but you have to get good vanilla for this recipe! It’s the main flavor and you want it to shine so go find a good real vanilla extract and it you want to get points for being fancy use some vanilla bean paste too while you’re at it. People love seeing the little specks of vanilla in the cupcakes.

Made vanilla cupcakes 3 times using this recipe and every time my cupcakes turned out perfect. Super moist , fluffy and delicious. I even made a 9 inch cake using this recipe and it was perfection. The best ever 💯

@@erinlight5020 I always use ermine frosting also known as cooked flour / boiled milk frosting because thats not too sweet like other types of frosting.

I was thinking when he said heavy cream that it was whipping cream. I didn't know there was a difference but googled and there are 2 products. Hopefully I am jit the only one confused about this.

@@erinlight5020 Heavy cream has a higher fat content and whips very well . My heavy cream has a 36% fat content and it whips beautifully. You can use it in every recipe which calls for whipping cream , double cream or heavy cream.

Sift all dried ingredients 1 2/3 all purpose flour 1/4 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 1 cup granulated sugar 1/4 tsp kosher salt Wet ingredients 3 egg whites room temperature 1/2 cup sour cream room temperature 1/2 warm milk 3 tsp vanilla extract Now add 3/4 butter at room temperature and mix Bake at 350, 15-20 minutes or until centers are set Vanilla Buttercream 1 lb, 450g unsalted butter Mix on low until creamy and soft Sift in 2 lbs of icing sugar (or as much as you'd like) Add vanilla flavouring Add cream 1-2tbls Pinch of salt Add 1 Tsp milk kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y-CTgNOps7m-gmQ.html

THESE CUPCAKES ARE THE BEST! I am a teen baker and I did a bake sale a month back for a block party in my neighborhood. I made a bunch of these cupcakes and they SOLD OUT! People were coming for seconds!! All of the kids LOVED IT! I have been using this recipe ever since. Thank you so much for making this, every time i bake these cupcakes they're gone the next day. These stayed moist for like a WEEK!! I will be using this and this recipe only for future cupcakes!

Hi John. This is Leena from India. Amongst many other things I made vanilla cupcakes for a chefs cooking competition in my school yday. And guess what ! Everyone loved it. Said the sweetness and texture is just right. Melt in your mouth. However since the weather in India is pretty warm I used whipped cream as the frosting instead of a butter frosting

OMG I made these tonight for my son's birthday party tomorrow and can I say these are so moist and delicious! The first batch I went exactly by the recipe. The next batch I decided to cream my butter and sugar first, then add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Then I altered with milk and dry next. The consistency was better but the taste was still the same. Amazing recipe, best one I've ever made!!

Just made these after realizing that I didn't have almond extract for my usual recipe that I make, and oh my goodness, the are amazing! OK now I've had a go to recipe for the last 10 years but I keep trying new recipes every now and then to see if I can find anything better! After your chocolate cupcakes have become my go to I decided to try your vanilla last night. I decorated them with a whipped cream cheese frosting and omg these were the best cupcakes everrrrrrr! I have just tried the cupcake recipe yesterday and love it! Tasty and moist! My daughter (6 years old). With the frosting, I used 1 pound of butter and 1 + 1/3 cup sugar (around 300g) and it comes out nicely. Even so my daughter already complained the buttercream icing is so sweet! So for those who doesn’t like so sweet icing, you can just cut back the sugar like I did.

Made these today, while I was fasting so I couldn’t really taste anything, that’s how much I trust you. 😂 And i was right, they turned out glorious. So moist and vanilla-ey. I didn’t really have enough butter, so I mixed some oil in, as well. They were great. Thank you for your wonderful recipes x

I did not have sour cream, but I had non fat Greek yogurt. I used 1/2 cup non fat Greek yogurt, skipped the milk and used 1/2 cup of heavy whipped cream instead. Same results, super delicious!

Oh my goodness! These are FANTASTIC! I've been looking for a vanilla cupcake recipe and I've found a winner. I was on the search for a good cupcake recipe for son’s upcoming 6th birthday. I tried this today and it turned out really good!!! I asked my husband to taste test and he ate 3 before he said they were good. Even my picky 4 year old loved them so it’s definitely a keeper for me. Also, I love that it’s so simple to make. I’ve always hated the “beat the butter and sugar together” step in baking. I have to say though, my butter didn’t completely mix with the flour mixture. There were still clumps of butter in the batter. I had to resist the urge to keep mixing in an attempt to break down the clumps of butter. In the end, it all worked out!! Thank you so much. I’ll try the butter cream frosting next

I made this, soo delicious! And so easy to make! To be frank, I did freak out with the liquid ingredients, but as the dry ingredients mixed in, the batter became silky and also smelled great♡ Thank you for the easy and delicious recipe!! Will be trying one of your buttercreams soon ^^

I made these cupcakes this week. They are ok. I made double amount. I also had the same cupcake sleeve as you do. Instead putting the powdered sugar all in at the same time, put a large spoonful in at a time over a minute and cloud of powdered sugar.

This is a simple recipe which turned out nicely. I was able to make a dozen cupcakes and a skinny 6-in cake. I used whole eggs. Had some very rich and buttery frosting left over from John's caramel cake recipe, and combined that with some of the leftover caramel and cream cheese to end up with a sublime frosting. Thank you.

These were so good! Not too sweet, soft and fluffy. I paired it with your Italian buttercream and it just hit the spot! Edit: next going to try the macaron recipe. I don’t expect to be perfect but I like a challenge.

Just made these and love them! I ran out of confectioners sugar, though, so my butter cream was a little soupy. I will definitely be making these again! 😊

This video was made 3 yrs ago and same remark he is always smiley funny and full of joy. THis video seems smth off with John but he is human we all have our up n downs !!
