How to Make Ubuntu 24.04 Look Like MacOS SONOMA. In this video I am going to show how to theme your ubuntu desktop to look like MacOS. For demonstration I will be using Ubuntu 24.04 that comes with GNOME 46 Desktop that allows Customizing gnome shell to look like macOS Sonoma.

Thank you for the instructions! :) everthing went well, except one thing. my windows is in dark mode. How do I changed it to light mode? menu bar is already in light mode. The application bar (at the button on screen) is also in light mode. So it´s just the windows that is dark, please help!

The side bar cannot be customized ,, you can only change the size. Try checking the options *./install.sh --help*

I miss the Big sur status area extension , it stopped updating on ubuntu 22.04 unfortunately :( , I have an incredibly long list of extensions that can improve upon this amazing transformation of yours , lmk if you'd like me to share it with you !

Both ubuntu and fedora is just fine. I prefer fedora 40 GNOME 46 Vanilla experience on laptop. It's dope AF.

Instead of using Fractional scaling, Do one thing, go to accessibility -> seeing and enable LARGE text.

You can use tweaks app - appearance and change the theme with accent color For some reason changing it, Accent color is not applying to buttons..

The mac os icon of close, minimize, and maximize buttons only works in firefox and terminal. It doesn't work anywhere else :

It works with GTK3 apps properly and flatpak apps. But like I said, GTK4 Apps have issues as it doesn't allow theming. See this link to learn more: github.com/vinceliuice/WhiteSur-gtk-theme

ubuntu or debian with KDE Plasma. Even google internal employees test android stuff on ubuntu. Get ubuntu bro.. I know its not stable at present but I does the job.

You seems absolute beginner and total confused. Nothing is best and nothing is worst in Linux world. You have to try yourself and distro hop for some time and you will understand yourself which distro suits you. I personally prefer to install Linux Mint as you seems to be a beginner.

IF you are a beginner you can go with either vanilla GNOME or KDE Plasma 6 based Distros. Suggested list: Ubuntu Fedora Zorin OS KUBUNTU Linux MInt (if you dont care about modern looks choose cinnamon)

I included that part , because if you haven't setup flatpak and try to theme flatpak applications it will throw an error. So it's better to install flatpak whether use it or not.

Noob here. I tried Ubuntu on a live disk. My laptop keyboard light and other stuff seem to work perfectly. But I want to try a different distro like Pop Os. Aren't they pre installed with the drivers I need like in Ubuntu? Will I run into any problems with other distros? Thanks a lot

ubuntu is highly customizable. POP OS Comes with preinstalled drivers mostly. For example if you have NVIDIA GPU On your computer, they offer NVIDIA ISO that has the drivers preinstalled, and same goes for Intel Or AMD users.
