This is an update video for the DIY series "How to Build T-Square Table Saw Fence" here: • Making A Biesemeyer St... .
If you watched that series you may remember that I had position issues with the tenons on the shop made glides. This video shows a simple solution to those spacing issues.

I just finished this ten part series on building the Biesemeyer style fence and I have to say very nice, I have always wanted one of those for my saw but it was not in the budget but with your system I believe it is now within reach. I would like to build one just for the satisfaction of doing it myself but buying one from you would give a certain degree of enjoyment sooner, much to think about. Thanks for sharing this.

I sure like metal working too but my skills are far below my wood skills. The first run of the sharpening jigs is at the fabricators right now. It is all I can do to keep from jumping out of boots I am so excited. I can't wait to show it. I am using the original prototype everyday, and my business partner Jeff Fischer has model #2 that the final production design is based on. Exciting times for me. I have many more fully formed and tested products for wood and metal ready to go also.

That is a really good question. I don't know of any glue that works to adhere uhmw to painted steel. The glides are about 3/32 so to countersink a screw so the head would not scratch would require a tiny screw like on the extrusion glide. I would have to tap into 1/4 steel with tiny taps many times to make this connection which is tough to do quickly. And these glides take a bit of abuse as they are put on and off the tubing and did not want to tear one off the screws. The press fit is simple.

I can't send links in the comments but all the dimensions other videos on my channel. I have a detailed series on building 3 guide rails. My tool company VerySuperCool Tools vsctools(dot)com also has a lot more information. We also have and adjustabel throat model that fits metric steel. Feel free to write me at askwoodman@gmail(dot)com for more info. Allan

Nice centering idea reply like it, but what I never really got why not just glue, rivet, or screw them in place like you did on the aluminum extrusion?

Do agree on the tapping part nuts on the other is just not nice, but you can make the glides as thin or thike as you like its your design, a 5 mm Allan counter sink would do. but iam more of a metal guy so tapping and screws is the way I feel. Btw when are we going to see your sharpening jig;)

here in Italy I can't find UHMW, so my choices are delrin, teflon and nylon. Which one of those would be the best alternative?

That is too bad you can't get UHMW. But I think it has to be available somewhere because Italy is a very sophisticated manufacturing economy. Delrin is too brittle. Not a good choice. I would go with nylon. Good luck and keep me posted.

AskWoodMan First of all, thank you for your quick answer. The problem here is that those kind of materials aren't usually readily available to the general public. You either have to buy them on-line or work in some related field to purchase them. Even when you find them on-line it's hard to find the size you actually need. That said, after your reply I tried to research a bit more into it and I learned that UHMW is more commonly called PE1000 over here in Europe and I found someone who sells it online but I still don't know if they have the right size. Anyway, thank you so much for your suggestion, at least I'll have the nylon option if I can't find UHMW! P.S. if someone else who doesn't live in the USA might need this information: UHMW --> PE1000 (polyethylene 1000 grade) HDPE --> PE300 HMWPE --> PE500

With your metal working skills you will have no problem. Did you see the series on KZfaq from AskTheSteelGuy about building the guide rail system? Feel free to write me at askwoodman@gmail . com so it will be easier to send you links. Allan
