Hello again everyone, today we’ll be making some ultra-concentrated oat milk. It is an easy to do way of making oat milk for use in soap making. Only one cube is needed per 1kg batch of oils in your recipe. You will instantly notice the beautiful benefits of creating your own milks for your soap recipes. It creates a rich, creamy lather & silky skin feel, it is pure heaven!
I hope you enjoy the video, Thanks for watching and happy oat milking!
Recipe Information;
Yields 8 Ice Cubes of ultra-concentrated oat milk
Ratio for making ultra-concentrated oat milk is 1:1.3. You can add up to double of water depending on how concentrated you want it, so for 300g of oats you can add up to 600g of distilled water
For this particular batch I used 300g of organic oats & 390g of distilled water. I blended it well, it becomes a very thick sludge / paste, I squeeze all the oat-milk oat using a nut milk bag. I then freeze it and use it for soap making when convenient. It creates a beautiful, rich creamy lather you will definitely notice how beautiful it is when you use it in your soaps on your skin
It is extremely cost effective and inexpensive to make, under 10c per cube!

Hi George, you are a trooper! Yes I have. tried this ultra concentrated method when you showed it in your previous oat soap recipe. I did find it hard to wring out the nut milk bag with my dodgy hand but am so glad I did as I still have some frozen cubes left to make more. It made absolutely beautiful soap...... gave some away to friends and they also loved the creamy lather and feel. Thanks for the repeat demo to show others how it's done. Keep resting, you are sounding tired. PS I enjoyed watching Donna unpack your beautiful soap. 🐾🦋 Am going to check the link you provided for the Genuine Australian Store now, which I know you linked before but I forgot about it!

So happy to see you back at it George! But YES!! Rest, rest, rest whenever you need to! Full recovery can take a bit. Question: When you add this to the soap recipe, does it simply count toward the water amount? In other words, are you still adding more water to make the lye solution?
@DawnOrganics
@DawnOrganics 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very muchly Paula. I usually use a steep water discount so it doesn't really matter. It has very little water content. Each cube weighs around 25g can always deduct 25g of water per 1kg batch if it's something your worried about. 1 cube is more than enough per kg of oil it is very concentrated. You will notice it at that usage rate, it creates a rich and creamy lather 🙏🙏🙏

Hi George, so I stuffed up again. Honestly my brain is driving me made atm. I am trying to make soap amongst my crazy health problems 😡😡😡 So I was making you patchouli soap and I doubled the recipe and split into two batches for two different scents. I think I have not put enough lye in. 187 instead of 287 or their abouts. In putting it into the moulds there is no heat happening and they are very soft. Am I able to save this batch? Can I melt it down and add extra lye without adding too much water?? Also I did use honey instead of sugar if that makes any difference. Wondering if I can get a brain transplant 🥴😑😡 Thank you for your support and patience Kind regards Sharon.
@DawnOrganics
@DawnOrganics Жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon, oh not good, sorry to hear about that. That's a tricky one, you can attempt to rebatch it, melt it down in a crockpot and add the remaining lye water to it. It won't come out perfect though, will have a rustic look, but will still function as intended. Be sure to check PH to make sure it's fully cooked and safe to use. Honey / sugar won't cause the issue your facing. Good Luck 🙏
