I've been enjoying using the Chef'n Pull'n Slice for making salads, but I knew it was supposed to make waffle fries as well. I just couldn't figure out how. Then it hit me - one simple trick and VOILA!

Are the waffle fries on the thick side? I bought a mandoline specifically for waffle fries and they came out so thin that they were basically potato chips. I'm trying to duplicate Chic-fil-a waffle fries - theirs are thick.
@DougBardwell
@DougBardwell 5 жыл бұрын
Not really - these are on the thin side and there is no adjustment. Sorry - but these won't match Chick-Fil-A.
@takla3210
@takla3210 3 жыл бұрын
Chic-fil-a used to make thick and large waffles up to early 2000s (at least 20% larger, 40% thicker than today's). Nowadays they make waffle chips and call it fries to save on costs.

I applaud you, however those are thin so they look more like waffle chips than waffle fries. I used to live in Ohio near a chain called Mr. Hero that had amazing waffle fries. That is how I found your video. Memories... :^)

I like how that slicer works, but true Waffle fries can't be made with the provided crinkle cut blade. It needs a thicker crinkle cut blade to make Waffle fries. Those are Waffle chips, like someone mentioned.
@DougBardwell
@DougBardwell 2 жыл бұрын
HI, @davenwin1973. Thanks for the comment, but I don't recall seeing any specifications on the necessary thickness of french fries. Steak and Shake fries don't seem to be any thicker than these, but nobody calls them chips - unless you're British, and then they are all chips. But I get your point. Cheers.

@@DougBardwell what few Arthur's restaurant are left promote fish and chips, as in fries in the US. Not many places call it Fish and chips. If a place does, it's usually a place with a British or Australian theme, and last I remembered, Australians call our fries, chips.

Those so-called "waffle fries" should actually be called "waffle chips". They are just too thin to be Waffle fries....And yes, I tried (and returned) the Chef'n Pull'n slicer.
