I hope you see this because i always make only 3 cups of rice because it’s a lot to fuck up and have to try again. Today I tried your way especially with the spoon trick it helped me a lot. Everyone always says 2 to 1 ratio but the spoon wasn’t standing. I took out about 1 and half cups of water and my rice came out great the first time.

Another way to ensure fluffy rice, you need to make a 2 to 1 ration. Meaning for 1 cup of rice, you would need 2 cup of water.
@karolj.jackson70322 жыл бұрын
2 to 1 ratio don’t always work for me, but I can eyeball it easy. I don’t measure it, I’m Haitien.
@hardminder Жыл бұрын
Haitian rice is not particularly fluffy. It's sticky and gummy and that's what good about it. Indian basmati rice is fluffy, every individual grain are separated and on the dryer side. Both are good i their own way.
@luckyluckylucky2261 Жыл бұрын
I use the 2 to 1 ratio for brown rice. I do 1.5 for white rice, I cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water. 🙏
@jeanniesPlanet Жыл бұрын
That doesn’t work with all kinds of rice
@ghettoghost305 Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t work for all kinds. For Basmati and Jasmine rice I use less water. If not, it will be nasty and very mushy. For long grain, that does work.

Oh, this is so good... Thank you! It works sooo good and is perfect. I always wondered why my rice comes out perfect but the taste is always juuuuust a bit... not right... Then it dawned on me - when I was a kid, a group of our mums would hire a lorry and take us out of school for a day and we'd ride up to the Artibonite to buy 100 kilos of rice (per family) every year... There's NOTHING like Haitian rice, I miss it so.

I usually cook 2 cups of rice to 3 cups of water. I sauté onions then garlic, then add the rice and sauté. I add the water, salt and taste the water, cooked on high. Once it is at a roiling boil, I cover and turned to low. Cook for 20-25 minutes. It always turns out perfect
