Crazy how capable bikes are these days, most think more power, real truth is suspension brakes tires and getting the bike set up for you makes a world of difference in rideability, great video

❤20yrs ago was when we were getting mind blowing production bikes affordable and INSANE PERFORMANCE!!! BIKES SCREAMING EVERYWHERE 😂WHEELIES 👍 👎 CRASHES!!! THOSE WERE THE DAYS. Now we get par twins with computer tech but oh well thats what the kids want. And retros, pretty cool. I go used every time been riding for + 20yrs. Thanks guys❤

Hey Sir that was very interesting stuff👍🏻 I've pretty much done all that, gearing, suspension, handlebars, footrests etc. Taken up all the idle free play on the throttle, but will be fitting a quick action soon. The tyres are the final stage for me, and yes those Michelin Power Cup 2s were on my list weeks ago. My RSV4 Factory will be flying round BH again very soon👍🏻

If your after lap times after comfort to move body position , a Bren tune and pipe can offer 20% more grunt which will change lap times. Id do this before suspension changes which are costly and not easy to set up.

Interesting how most people go straight for the exhaust change.

Actually good timing because I am going to track out my ‘12 R6. More focused on getting my body position as perfect as can before speed n modifications on bike though; but right now, healing up for crash I had about month ago.

Still Yamaha isn't bringing the factory tune for R1, like Ducati bringing the factory tune for Panigale V4.

great vid - looking forward to the series - especially having had a 2016 R1M a couple years back and going through a similar process ! just one thing. - Lap times for comparison of the effects of changes would have been really useful, to be honest they are essential !!

What does the brake spring clip do? Why did you take it off? Thanks, great video
@BEEBEE1593 жыл бұрын
I put a link below for you. The article is talking about car disc brakes, but it is the same design as motorcycle disc brakes. It sounds to me like the springs are important, and I would not remove them from a bike used on the street. The article shows a disc rotor that is only a few months old, and it's completely destroyed because it was used with the pad springs removed. carsmobilemechanic.co.uk/brake-pad-spring-clips-why-you-need-them/

For the average rider: 1) lose weight 2) take a course to improve your riding skills 😄😁😆 Seriously, what about lighter wheels? And changing the whole exhaust by something lighter?
@jasonkeating99582 жыл бұрын
Would it be cheaper to start with the R1M rather than the standard bike as you get ohlins as standard and other ungrades as well

👈🏼 Nothing wrong with older sportbikes like my 21 y/o ZX9r, I could do all this and it already has no ABS or traction control etc, it has Pilot Power's a very good road version of those tyre's 😎

Pump your tires up hard, dress like rolly free and ride the same. Waste thousands of pounds on bolt ons. Just loose weight for better power to weight. Except your never going to ride your plastic fantastic nowhere near its full performance on the road. Only the road racers get close.
