Good video. My system is pretty modest. Sony STR DH 190 receiver: Sony PS-LX 310 BT turntable Sony SSC5 Bookshelf Speakers and a Onkyo DX c390 6 CD changer so I’m into for just about $890. That is why I haven’t bought a lot of the 45rpm records. I only have 3 the two Phil Collins ones and I just picked up Morrison Hotel by the Doors used in NM condition for $30 and they sound good but I imagine they would sound even better on a upgraded system and since I just bought all my stuff this past February/March upgrading anything in my system is a long ways off 🤣🤣🤣

Great vid! I believe the 45 rpm is remastered, and that is also why it sounds so rich on 45 rpm! I don't think the remaster has been released as 33 rpm, but I could be wrong. Definitely going to be picking up the 45 rpm after watching your review :)

Yes, Gold Dust Woman is a different track on 45rpm. All that intro is new to me. But also the detail in the 2nd half is a revelation...

Yep, the 45rpm version is the finest version I have ever heard by a long way. It’s not even close. By the way, in a $3,500 system I would strongly advise that the next upgrade you make is to your turntable. I’m a strong believer that the turntable is the most important part of your vinyl playback system. Your cartridge will certainly benefit from this as the stylus and cantilever are excellent.

The 45 Fleetwood self titled is the same way. It’s no longer in print though so it’s not cheap nowadays

I just bought the Dire Straits Bothers in Arms Abby Road half speed remaster in 45. I only need one word to describe the Different, WOW I have a Flunace rt85n with VM95ml needle and Daytona Audio Hta-200 tube amp that Power my Jeff Bagby Studio Montier 7inch 2ways SO pretty good Mid-Fi system But that 45 made it Super Good,

If one wants a Version of Rumours totally quiet and totally without pops and crackles, I strongly advise to the 45rpm CD Version!

Sorry to be the fly in the ointment, but I would wager serious money proving that the DVD-V audio surround sound versions of "Rumours" and "Mirage" would sound ten times better on all metrics than the 45 or 33 RPM versions.

Thanks for watching and the comment. I'm sure it sounds great! Some people prefer a surround sound approach and some prefer the illusion that a great two channel recording can give. As long as everyone is toe tapp'n that's all that matters. Enjoy!

@@TheModestAudiophile-oq2hy I have nothing against people enjoying vinyl, but it's always been my desire that technology progresses. Having collected vinyl since 1969 (and playing my parents records since 1958), I fully appreciate some of the fun that comes with that medium. I've bought several Blu-ray discs of Gentle Giant and a recent Blu-ray surround disc (they all include the stereo mix) of the band War, it's amazing what lossless digital audio can deliver. I've got several LP-size 45 rpm records (my favorite being Midnight Oil "Power and the Passion". They all sound really good! In any case, keep on doing your thing on KZfaq. It's always great to see people like yourself having a passion for audio and music. 😁
