Thank you!! Great Video! I was searching for this info! I use Beeswax, Coconut oil, and our goat milk from the farm! I get a beautiful candle BUT I know now I have been putting my essential oils in when the wax is too hot! Just made a candy cane scent with peppermint, orange and cinnamon essential oils. It's curing but I am going to do another batch making sure my wax is cooler ! Thanks again!! ~jc

Let's all help each other! Use me to comment: a) if you have already figured out your ideal % of essential oil (Y/N) b) what % of essential oils was that (x%) c) at what temperature you added the essential oil to the wax (x° Degrees Celcius) d) at what temperature you poured (x° Degrees Celcius) Make sure to specify: 1) what type of wax you used (if 100% soy, when possible, specify if it's 464, 444, etc.) 2) are you sure your essential oils were 100% pure? (Y/N) 3) what essential oil you used (lavender, eucaliptus, patchouli, etc.) 4) If you have already figured out the wick size and all the rest. (Y/N) (This so that we can be sure that this is not interfering with your results)

Hi honey! I came across your channel looking for the right temperature to add essential oils. I haven't started to make candles yet, I was first "studying". So first, congrats, it's a very nice channel! Second, the reason I have doubts is because I asked 3 chemistry PhDs and they explained flash points have to do with the ignition thing and that is something that won't happen at "home-scale" manufacturing. They all said the scent will not evaporate and believe the candle will smell better if the mix is done at about 85 degrees C as the heat helps with the blending (long, chemical, perfectly sense-making explanation I can give you if you want). So I wanted to ask you, have you personally tried mixing at higher temperatures? Because it wouldn't surprise me if you haven't, as there is A LOT of media that says this about the flash points and to mix at low temperatures, but the truth is none of them are actual chemists. Could you please let me know if you tried or try and what your results were? Thanks a lot!

This makes perfect “scents” actually. Pun intended lol. I was thinking this same thing during her video. Thanks for this info.

What do you think of a coconut/soy wax or have you tried apricot and coconut wax for essential oil candles? Would you heat up to 140 degrees with either of these blends like you did in the video for grapeseed and coconut wax?

Hello! So I've tried soy and coconut wax and rapeseed and coconut wax and for both, I heated them up to 60c and avoided going any further. My best tip would be to do what your candle supplier tells you to on the product page 😊

@@thecandlejourney2500 why not just pure coconut wax, what's the function of the rapeseed wax and why didn't you like the soy Coco blend?

Hi there! I was just wondering which wax and wicks you are using in the amber jars? I'm struggling to get a good hot throw with some scents. I tried coconut & soy C6 with a stabilo 12 wick but this is too big. Any advice/recommendations really welcomed :)

Hello! I the coconut and rapeseed wax - RCX. I'm also still using the CL6 wick, but also experimenting with the CL4 too 😊 I found CL10 too big. How long do you leave your candles to cure for? And what % of FO or EO are you using?

All of you chemist starting that she is wrong about flashpoints need to spend more time studying reading comprehension. The KEY word when reading the definition of flashpoint is "flame". The oil will become vapor and ignite, WHEN EXPOSED TO OPEN FLAME. I guess if you were in a small, close in room with no sir flow, you could have ignition. Otherwise, "flash" isn't going to happen. Your welcome, have a great day.

Please help me. So i've been adding abt 70 drops of fragrance oil to my 60gr soy wax. Its smell nice when i inhaled up close, but when i lit it, it doesn't give any smell😭 i melt it again and add another 5 drops and it still don't. Please can you give opinion or some tips for this. I really need it, i don't want to sell low quality candle😭 i don't wanna make them disappointed

Hello! Oh no, sorry to hear that. It sounds like you certainly need to use a formula for your candles and add a percentage of fragrance oil rather than a certain amount of drops. Check out this video for that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jslxiayYzKvTXaM.html 😊

My friend. You need to reed more about flashpoints before ypu giving recommendations. Flashpoints does not have anything to do with the temperature adding it to The wax. Just as you know.

??? Flashpoints are incredibly important for essential oils when adding to hot wax. Otherwise, you'll lose the properties of the essential oil.

@@thecandlejourney2500 Flashpoint is the temperature at which the vapor over the liquid will ignite upon exposure to an ignition source. It has NOTHING to do with burning off scent/hot throw. Love your channel but that bit of information you gave is incorrect.

Thank you for sharing you have been extremely helpful, I have liked and subscribed! Could you please advise on the flashpoint to add fragrance oil and essential oil blends and the pouring temperature for coconut-soy blend? May I know why do you use rapeseed instead of soy or beeswax? I tried using 100% coconut wax however it does not solidly well and the surface is not smooth even though I added 8% fragrance/ essential oil. If you are comfortable could I please have your email address? Look forward hearing from you! I really appreciate your reply Thank You!!
