What are flashpoints on fragrance oil bottles? Is it the temp you add the fragrance oil to the wax?

new to candles, but not new to terminology like flashpoint as I currently work in petrochemicals. you did answer my one question regarding adding it to wax at a higher temperature than flashpoint, so thank you!

hey thanks for this video. I really love your videos! what about pouring the fragrance in as the recommendation is 'as close to the pouring temperature' (140F)? what to do in that case? thanks

Hi Erika, do I have to understand when I have the pitcher with the wax into the double boiler I have to add the FO right away at 210. I am using apricot coconut soy wax and according the supplier it has to be heated up to 185 degrees and the FO has to be added at 180 or 175. Thank you so much in advance for your response and your videos and for your generosity in sharing all your knowledge.

Thank you for sharing! Also I used to use eco .75 double wicked in the libbey 11 oz heavy base rocks with ex-26 wax (8% FL) burned beautifully. I know you always say the eco 1s burn too hot….have you tribes the .75s?

Thanks for explaining, I thought it was something like that but was still a bit confused. Oh and I naively thought that CS didn't ship to Canada because of Flashpoint regulations, now I know it's not that and that makes me even more sad they don't, cause they have tons of FO I'd love to smell. Hopefully they'll ship there soon.

I am trying out room sprays for the first time and am following your recipe while i test my fragrances out and then make the recipe my own. My question for you is since the oil is super diluted once in the room sprays, do you have any issues shipping your room sprays by air?

Yes, I have a Coconut wax candle line and add fragrance in around 210-215° F. It doesn't affect the cold or hot throw at all. Add fragrance in my other wax other wax around 190-195° F to get great hot and cold throw. Remember, different waxes require to be heated to different temperatures before adding fragrance oils so they can bind to each other. Also check with manufacturer of your wax and if in doubt, call the company where you bought, they are great source of help. Erica, another great video and reason for me becoming a candle maker myself. 🙂🥰💞

Yes I add in FO at 185 when working with tart wax for wax melts :)

Hey Erica. I made my second batch of candles and they don’t have any hot throw although the cold throw is good. I use 464 soy wax, mixed with FO at 185 degrees, 9%. What did I do wrong?

@@MemoryBoxCandleCo I watched it before I even started making candles. I add fo at 185, I pour it at 135F I have same size and same wicks for my vessels and some of them smell perfectly and some of them don’t have any hot throw.
