Too much heat is never good, especially when talking about performance cars. The biggest problem that race cars have to overcome when their vehicle is ALWAYS being stressed is temperature control. Whether it be the tires, differential, engine oil, or coolant, keeping the temperatures down is essential for reliability.
After I took my car to the track, I noticed there were multiple parts of the car that got too hot. The day I went to there, it was rainy so the temperatures were lower than what they should have been, however the engine oil, coolant, and differential temps got quite warm, to the point that something needed to be done to resolve the excessive heat. This is the one of many solutions to those problems. Performing these upgrades will allow the engine to run at a cooler temperatures as the system will go into open loop at 68°C vs. 82°C thanks to the Mishimoto Racing Thermostat. The best part of it is that Mishimoto components are backed by a LIFETIME warranty.
The more heat cycles you put into your engine, the faster the rubber coolant hoses will break down. The OEM rubber lines can last you anywhere from a 3 years to 10 years depending on the environment the car is in. When the rubber hoses break down, you will be able to see cracking found throughout the hose and will become more brittle, very similar to tires. Even when a tire has lots of life left, after a certain number of years, they should be replaced. To get around this repetitive and expensive cycle, one can simple replace the rubber hoses with these upgraded silicone hoses that are reinforced with Nylon. You will not need to replace these hoses and they will not deteriorate like the old ones. They do cost a bit more than the OEM hoses, however they come with a LIFETIME warranty. They are a terrific bang-for-buck upgrade if you’re looking into this procedure.
If you plan on doing a coolant flush to your car, or the OEM thermostat has failed on you, than this is a prime time to perform this upgrade.

you have to configure the ECU enrichment fuel injection because at lower temps it will over-inject fuel to compensate for the lesser normal functional temperature from factory after putting a different thermostat - or get just over consumption needlessly.

I vacuumed the pieces out. The car had one owner before me and I've owned her since 2015. Both me and the prior owner live in Naples, Florida so the heat is nevvvver ran. Good thing!

I would recommend stuffing some shop towels underneath any of the coolant hoses you detach so as to minimize a mess on your engine. I like to mix one oz of Redline's Water Wetter to each quart of coolant to improve heat transfer from the block and head to the coolant. Water Wetter is a surfactant that reduces the surface tension of the water and allows for greater contact area between the metal and the coolant. When I did this to my Z I noticed a 5 - 10 deg F drop in idle and low speed temps and a good 10 deg F drop in highway temps. I did a similar thing with a liquid-cooled Porsche 944S that I had years ago and got great results in lowering my engine temps.

Excellent video and very informative, except for one tiny detail. I wish you had shown exactly where the most difficult hoses (the heater hoses) were to remove and how you used your tool to do it. You only gave one quick glance at the fire wall where the heater hoses were and it was "almost" enough to give me an idea of how to remove them. I'm sure I could figure it out but...it would have been nice.

If the engine constructor recommended that the temp will be better to be higher than 68 degree, than working under that temp will increase the wear in the engine. If you wanna be protected for overheating you should use a mix with more water in the cooling system and a better radiator. Keeping the engine under temp will increase the wear. Also use an oil cooler and a bigger intercooler for overheating protection. That will be far better than too cold coolant running inside the engine.

But putting a lower temp thermostat might only keep it for example at 160 F for a little while in a hot 95 F plus climate, it'll eventually climb up when the vehicle is not moving. I've seen this on my G37 which I even have it set to run the fans at full speed as soon as the engine is turned on. For managing temps I think that a good oil cooler is best. This way the radiator doesn't have to fight the engine's temps alone.

You are SUPPOSE TO REV THE CAR in the bleeding process per the factory service manual. Iv done this myself. Have the funnel no more that 1/3 full, and rev slowly to 3k rpm and hold for 10 seconds. Let off fast. Hold a few seconds, then repeat 3 or 4 times. That's only adter everything else is done, then I shut the engine off and leave to funnel on until the engine is cold, then remove. You will lose about 1 inch of coolant back into the engine during the cooling process.

If you just change to silicone hoses and reinstall a new OE temp thermostat, no nothing will change heater wise. Silicone hoses on their own won't increase cooling ability, just durability. Changing the thermostat temperature is what will cause the heater to blow air that isn't as hot as it should be.
