@JourneyswithJai Question, if you can help. I notice my builder gel ( I use Beetles) doesn't cue. Why is that. When I do my nails without it it's less Hassel for everything to cue.

Hello, im a beginner. I have been doing gel-x method. It is sometimes hard to determine how much glue gel to use but i know practice makew perfect. I just love how patient you are and helpful with your videos ❤

As always, I 🫶🏽 your videos!! I also purchased “b072 Pink Champagne” because of watching your videos and it’s one of my favorite Beetles polishes! It’s the perfect cover nude polish for my skin tone, as I’m a bit darker than you. Thanks! 😊 I do have a question…… I usually use primer to etch underneath my Gel X nails instead of using an e-file to etch and to also help with adherence, but you used a dehydrator. Do you like using a dehydrator more….does it work better than a primer? I’m curious! 🤔💭

Hi, if the primer works for you there is no need for the dehydrator during that step I have used a few different methods but I tend to reach for the dehydrator more. ☺️🤍

To apply just the full coverage tips (not painting or nail art etc) should only take a few min. Where do u feel like u r struggling? Like too much adhesive gel/not enough, or getting the tips straight, etc. It does take a lil practice but maybe I can share some tips (even tho u weren't asking me 😬 sorry! I just noticed she wasn't able to get back to u yet!)

Shouldn’t you put on the dehydrator after you buff the artificial nail? Just wondering if it would work better. Way back when in nail school everything was so simple. Tips didn’t come off even if we didn’t buff inside the artificial nail before hand. We also didn’t file or buff over the gel. Because it’s already smooth. I see a lot of extra steps in today’s world. Do they teach that way in school now? I really like the way you applied the gel after application. I think you did a beautiful job and thank you for this video.

I guess it makes it more seamless from what I could gather. I'm just learning this as well. I'm also thinking that it is easier to fill that gap when the nail grows out. It's a great question and the first I had since seeing this method

Hey. So I've been watching your videos over and over since yesterday lol. In this video I belive you use a base coat before adding the gel extend and the nail tip, in another video that doesn't involve the overlay method you use no base coat. What do you recommend if I do the overlay method? Base coat on natural nails or no base coat? Currently loading up my Amazon cart with your recommendations as I'm done paying 95 for acrylic refills

Hi, yes, I typically do not use base coats, but I’m trying to get more into utilizing the base coats that I have as gel typically calls for basecoat, but it is not necessarily needed for the overlay method to last. 🤍

are you using gel? if so, after curing your first layer of polish, if you start your second layer and mess up you can just remove with nail polish remover.

It’s to create a seamless application from your natural nail bed to the extension. Some people experience issues with lifting at the cuticle when it comes to soft gel extensions, and with the builder gel, it adheres to the natural nail very well and helps with longevity. 🤍

Hi, The purpose of base coat is to help the tips to stick better and last longer on your nails. The base coat can also protect your natural nails from being damaged. It’s not needed but for someone like me who creates content and frequently changes my nail sets I try to use it.

For the overlay method, you would want to only use builder gel in either the bottle or jar. You could also use poly gel I’ve seen people use that as well.

What brand are u using?? Try getting the apres brand. And if you do not have a hema allergy then get the original application gel that apres makes. They make a hema free gel to apply their extensions, but hema is used to get better adhesion to the nail.

@@rachelbrown8205 hi actually applying the nail glue and curing a layer to your natural nail before applying the tip has helped me tremendously !! Not a base coat But the gel glue. After two years, mine wasn’t staying two weeks

@@denisemattingly7389 I’ve been using the Aprés. I actually just switched to NotPolish and I have had a lot of success. Also, there isn’t hardly any spillover so I don’t have to use a drill and/or excess filing.

Hi, I use a 70% isopropyl alcohol, it can remove the shine but usually goes away once I wash under my nail tip with a nail brush. 🌺🤍
