Your video literally saved a kiddo's Halloween. I spent 2 weeks creating a pretty damn awesome Eddie Munson battle vest for my 11 year old, even hand-studding the back with a Dio shirt. Didn't receive the Motorhead or Iron Maiden patches from Amazon...twice. Found this video and was able to make them both along with an extra Judas Priest at the very last minute. Finished them at 2 am Halloween morning. They aren't perfect and I'm praying the extra stitch witchery will hold them in place because I didn't have time to try to sew them. But many thanks for helping me turn my sweet innocent dimple-faced little guy into a badass Flayer Slayer!

@@JJMetalhead far from best mom but I love you for thinking it! The 2 am was because 1) I screwed up the first couple of tries and 2) I started really late (ok and 3 - watching you with your chalice maybe inspired me to drink a little-lot while designing, hence #1, ha). Would you believe those tasteless little middle school trolls thought he was a “biker” or “pirate”? Ugh. Omg this is awesome!! I bought a denim vest a few months ago but none of my favourite bands make back patches so I haven’t actually been able to turn it into a battle vest yet. I’ve always wanted to have The Varangian Way by Turisas (check them out if you like folk metal and haven’t listened to them yet) as my back patch and now I can finally do it! I’m also a woman so a lot of patches look quite big and take up a lot of space on my vest, so this is very useful for me

I also like to draw my own patches. It’s fun to be a little artistic. I made a Crypta patch with black and yellow fabric. I drew the logo on the yellow sewed it on to the black and then sewed on to the jacket. It made it like embroidered patch because it was thicker and looked like a normal patch. I also enjoy this method as well. Thanks for saving everyone money!

Holy crap! Christian metal is a thing!? Thats the greatest thing I've literally heard all day! Do you have any bands that u would suggest? (Its not for me, it's for my VERY religious grandparents who were giving me crap about punk music and told me I'm going to hell)
@averydoesstuff
@averydoesstuff 2 жыл бұрын
@@lucidasewerrat396 The only Christian metal-adjacent bands I know of are Stryper (cheesy 80s glam metal with biblical references) Demon Hunter (a metalcore group that to me sounds like a poor man's Motionless In White), Lamb of God (super well-known), August Burns Red (metalcore), The Devil Wears Prada (metalcore). There's also this thing called White metal (it's just black metal without sacrilegious content). I'm not gonna lie, though, sacrilegious themes are so popular in metal that it's hard to find something without it. Christian metal tends to be very unpopular. This makes sense given metal's history and reputation as "outsider/rebellious" music. Same goes for Punk. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that what your grandparents have an issue with is solely their problem. People will forever have their individual preferences. Feeling you "have to" change yourself to satisfy someone else's wants or expectations, however (with your devout grandparents, in this case), is usually dishonest to your personal character. You owe it to yourself to be the truest version of you. Good luck and have a great day! Signed, an atheist P. I love this idea I just dont have money yet to get supplies to make them this way. Second question, would it be okay if I painted the back instead of buying a back patch? Idk I thought that would be “unique” if I did and represent the fact that I paint, and again I dont have money for one haha
