In this video I show some of the steps I did to make my own LUND SSV14 floor panels. I did not show step by step, but basically how I designed my own floor panels. I removed old carpet and installed Linoleum to help with cleaning ability, comfort, and be a little more water resistant. Be sure to check out a few other boat videos and maintenance vids on my channel. Drop a Like, or share this video. SUBSCRIBE today! its much appreciated. Thanks for watching!

I have a 2020 14' SSV and I just took some 3'x3' skeletal interlocking heavy rubber mats from my gym and garage. I cut them so they fit between the seats. They cushion the floor, reduce noise and are very grippy yet waterproof.

Sweet! I wanted some flat floors to be able to stand up and be somewhat stable. The v in the front floor is quite deep so much better being flat. Cheers!

I have a 2000 ssv 14, the ressr piece rotted alittle. Why did you screw thruthe vinyl, and not screw the base on first. I don’t want the screws showing

Did y use glue on the vinyl. Hind site might have been better. Used the screws to help hold vinyl on. No other reason really

Does the back board sit flush with the middle walkway? I'm measuring my ssv14 and 52" wide seems like it will sit a bit raised from the walkway not flush.

The back does not sit flush. I made the rear floor first. I wanted the floor to sit above the rails that run on the floor of the boat. If I cut the notches like I did on the front panel to accommodate the rails I could have dropped it an inch to make flush. Worked out in end cause I don’t trip over my cable for sounder cause it is protected bu the lip now. But if you want it flush cut out the 2 notches on each side to allow the plywood to sit lower.

Holding up great. I believe I just got it from Home Depot. Nothing special.

It would seem likely the the linoleum would be dangerously slippery if it was wet? Could you address this issue? I’m not a big fan of carpet but a slippery floor would be a deal breaker? Thanks

Nah. Floor works awesome. I usually do barefoot as well. No issues

Don’t use treated wood on Aluminum it will eat right through the Aluminum. I used to be a senior executive with a major boat company and we where the largest manufacturer of Aluminum boats. We never used treated wood.

One other quick question ,the frame for the back is just square? Do you know roughly the dimensions of the 2x4s
@bigair0176
@bigair0176 3 жыл бұрын
@@cohoman83 yes they are just square. One I believe I cut the 2x4 to match the angle of the boat. The frame I thought I measured as well in the vid. But roughly to my memory was about a foot wide by and then as wide as the panel itself. Just depends on how low or high you want it all to sit. I made mine as close as possible to my walk through seat between both panels
