Can you believe it?!?
I didn't at first, and then I tried it out myself. SO easy and SO convenient! Gold leaf is quite expensive so if you're trying to cut costs this is an excellent way to do so!
As I mentioned, I haven't tried it with any other metallic paints, but the one I use in this video is from Magic Colours and works perfectly.

I tried it on the tin foil and couldn't get it to come off. So, I spread the airbrush medium (same as she used) on my quartz counter. Let it dry, then used a razor blade to lift it. It is perfect and there is ZERO waste!

Try this yall instead of the aluminum foil and use a hair dryer to quickly dry the paint!!! I had to finish an order in an hour and the aluminum didn't work and this helped!!!

That is so awesome! Thank you for the tip, Georgia. I have never used gold leaf mainly because it is bit expensive. This is doable for this broke girl. 😜😄

I've tried tried exact method a ywar ago and failed as the gold didnt peel away I'm just wondering if your foil has an oily film perhaps. Ours in Australia does not but I'd love to try it again!!!! THANKS ❤❤❤

mama b Hello :) I know this is an old post but I just tried this, this afternoon, I’m in Australia also and mine wouldn’t peel away either? I’ve just spread it thick now to dry overnight too see if that helps! Did you figure it out at all? :)

I add plain gelatin to the food coloring and make edible glitter using the same technique. I grind it in a coffee grinder to make it fine. Never thought to make gold flakes. Thank you.

Mine worked like a bomb! Tried both the counter and foil method and the foil one worked better as l got bigger pieces off. I also tried another brand, Barco rose gold airbrush colour and it does not work. You end up with rose gold dust from the counter and can barely get dust off from the foil. But as noted by her, the consistency of this brand is a bit sticky, whereas the Barco was too thin. Oh and it does take longer, left mine for more than an hour and also used a hairdryer, so be patient.
