Cannot thank you enough. I've been making every single one of the mistakes for more years than you've been alive. Can't wait to work on another cake with this tutorial right beside me on my tablet.

I hate cakes with crumb coats only. They look unfinished! Beautiful flowers though.

I’ll get it somewhat perfect the first time and be happy (and my family will be impressed) The second time around, I will think I’ve got it, and stuff things up… very frustrating. I’m saving your video for future reference.

Thanks for this tutorial. As a beginner one of my biggest issue is getting the cake level after putting on that second coat of icing; I usually mange to get it lopsided. Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.. This tutorial is completely a game changer.. These simple tips have elevated my cake game.. The most useful tip for me was holding the bench scraper at the bottom and the way you applied the buttercream for the initial coating.. My cake ALWAYS comes out with the top being narrow and the bottom is wider and I can usually cover it with decorations, BUT now I just did a cake using these techniques and it’s a game changer.. Again Thank You and many blessings 🙏🏾❤️

My difficulty is the crumb coat. I always get a lot of cake crumbs into the icing. Second layer is easy on a chilled crumb coat.

Is there a way to achieve smooth sides when you don't own a turn table? I don't have one since I only make cakes for family birthdays right now
