It's a long one this week! I have put timestamps so you can jump to the parts you want! xx So, this week, realising that I still haven't found my perfect ready-made journal, I decided to jump in and make my own. From choosing collage and scrapbook papers to making my own cover, to sewing in the signatures, and finishing, sealing and decorating the front cover... I am showing you the whole thing, start to finish! It's super easy too so definitely suitable for beginners. And, if you are an expert then please excuse my wobbly and unmeasured approach! I'm slightly messy you see! Also, in this video is a small art journaling supplies unboxing and review as well as me talking through all things art journaling! All my ideas, plans for 2022, tips and techniques and why I actually do it in the first place! I really hope you enjoy it! With Biggest Loves, Wendy. Xxx

*EDIT What is happening? Some of you are saying you can't watch as it says 'unavailable on the device,' and the video won't play. I have checked everything in my power and it all is as it should be. I think it's a KZfaq 'processing' issue... I have messaged them to fix it so fingers crossed all should play perfectly soon!!! Sooo sorry!!! Blurghghgh!!! It is working for me now, but do let me know if you can or can't see... xx So sorry about the weird blurring during the first part! I am trying to fix it but for some reason it's not worked yet... it says it is still processing it but fingers crossed, once it has, the weird blurs will disappear.* *I hope it doesn't distract too much... blurgh to technology sometimes!!! Sorry though! xx*

Another of the other vlogs I watch often is The Cottage Fairy. A few episodes ago, she said, “I tend the star inside my heart to keep it shining beautiful, brilliant, and bright.” I’ve taken that as an affirmation and it’s been so meaningful to me to intentionally work on tending the star inside my heart. I’ve found that as I’ve done so, I’ve felt more compassionate and patient with myself as well as others. Thank you, Wendy, for shining your light so brightly here and sharing it with us. 🌟

I've just paused the video to say that I love the idea of creating vision pages in a journal rather than as a vision board. I hadn't really thought about this before, but when you said it, I just knew that this s swhy I have never created a vsion board! Because I worried it would be seen by soemone I would rather not have shared it with. I feel happy to creat them in my private art journal. Thank you for this insight!

I wish I could do some of the things you say you’ve done. I think because I was raised with nothing, I could not give up anything because we could not afford to replace, if needed later. After many many years of working/laboring with no time for anything else, I’ve found myself on another end of life and with more than I ever expected. Now I’ve more than I need or can use in a life time but trust few to love and respect what it took to get to where I am.

This video was so amazing. I learned so much. Great job Wendy. I never looked at Journaling as being magical and making your dreams come true. My mother just passed away Sunday. The funeral is Dec. 3. This video gave me a chance to escape, even just for a moment. I need to journal. I tried over the years and just get bored with the process. Maybe now I can look at it in a different light. See you in the next video. Trying to keep my head up high and letting my light shine. My Mom died with Alztheimers. Thanks again for the fun light hearted video. ♥️🎨

But I'm having problems being motivated to do art right now. Then when you mentioned the 'percolating stage' I thought yeah maybe that's it. Enjoyed hearing your thoughts and seeing your process. Due to a lack of space I scavenge my old journals, it was cool to hear you talk about it, thank you for sharing.

I really love this idea as an art journal Wendy! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your entries, and am going to follow along with you after I construct my own art journal as well! This seems to be a great way to use and enjoy the beautiful and various papers that I have recently purchased! Thank you!

I loved this. It was inspiring to watch you create your own journal and do it without fretting over trying to do it perfectly. And yet, it did indeed turn out beautiful. I'm hooked on making my own since the pandemic started. I doubt I'll go back to buying them as it's so satisfying making your own. Enjoy. 💌✍️📖

I stumbled across your channel a week or so ago. Feeling inspired to create more. I've never used an art journal before, it is a new and really liberating way of creating. Thank you for sharing your light.

The video length was perfect! I appreciated your method of putting the book together. I, too, am not a measure-y exact type person. Some of my friends create things that are so perfect. I love them, but it just isn't me. For a person who has NO supplies at all, where would you suggest starting as far as collecting materials?
