This video will introduce you to the steps of construction of a skateboard. Step by step, you will be able to make your own! Hope you enjoy and don't forget, that's a homemade method, so it might not be the best board that you will ride... but by far the funniest to do!
Don't forget to follow my channel if you want more videos.

@@befer it actually felt lighter and More snappy. Graphics wise, i dont have a silk screen. I used waterslide but waterslides come in sheets. So i couldn’t get the graphics as one full sheet. Plus considering the amount of work i had to put into it id have charge more then store bought. The catch is similar to my guitar making. When a robot is making it the value goes down. But when its hand made the value should go up. But then finding a buyer becomes more difficult when they compare it to mass produced versions..at least for me, lol im not the best salesman haha. So far its still holding up, but i haven’t skated in like 3 years now also haha

wow this is crazy I did this exact same thing as a high-school wood shop project when I was maybe 15 ( im 27 now). I remember I accidently cut a deck at 7.25 wide and gave it to my brother who learned 360 pressure flips on that same board because it was so narrow. He later landed too hard and snapped it. I was so sad afterwards lol

Just a thought... But if you used thinner planks (eg 20mm) when creating the concave etc, you might be able to fill in the steps/edges with a really strong filler, rather than relly on cutting away so much through sanding. It's just that the more you have to sand away, the more likely that your top and bottom mould will not really match perfectly. Which means a much weaker bond and way less deck strength.
@mikeg1433
@mikeg1433 2 жыл бұрын
I understand what you’re saying about how sanding the two halves of the mold individually technically creates dissimilar pieces which means theres some variation in in the press resulting in a weaker (albeit very slightly I’m sure) board. I also understand how using more, thinner planks increases the resolution of the copies, so to speak but I don’t know how filler would make it more precise than just sanding from that point? Also, how did you decide an exact number like 20mm for the recommended plank thickness? Is this a standard that’s in use in the industry? I’m assuming you’re referring to something like a resin or epoxy as the filler but I’m trying to imagine applying it and I’m not experienced at all with any of it but I’d imagine, if it’s the right consistency, you can pour it on and/or use something like a large plastic putty knife and special brush but would it really be more consistent? I guess the force on gravity is pretty consistent lol but won’t it also cause more to pool up in the concaves? Maybe if you exaggerate the concaves on the template that would make up for it🤔

I like this idea, a bit ! What I like is the idea of using narrower material for the forms. I think that a cheap and readily available material such as MDF could be used. It comes in many thicknesses. What I don't like, is the original idea of sanding, or the idea of filling. I think that if a narrow material was used, the contours would be close enough to be left alone altogether. Let's assume 10mm MDF, I could work with that using a jigsaw, as I don't have access to a bandsaw. But having never tried this, it's all speculation. I will have to have a go. I want to make a topmount dropdeck longboard of a slightly more compact length than my other boards.

Wondering if you’ve had any subsequent problems with the polyurethane glue? This could be one application where it shines. It’s very waterproof. But I’m concerned that it’s too thin and can’t bridge even tiny gaps except by foaming. Maybe no problem as even the foam is very sticky.
