I had seen someone do this sort of thing before but with a bungee cord. I’ve heard the cords wear out after a while though but these springs should retain their tension for a long time. Definitely an easy and cheap convenience upgrade.

Is there some way to make the trunk lid only pop up and inch or two? My Ford Five Hundred release unlocks, but doesn't lift at all, confusing the guys at Walmart pickup. I don't want the lid to completely lift, only pop up an inch or so.

You would have to loosen the tension on the springs pretty much all the way.

I’m not too sure that it would. I don’t know of too many SUV hatches that open like this with the 2 arms but if your SUV does it might be worth a shot!

They are very nice, but I’m holding out for the K5 GT or a Stinger 3.3 twin turbo. I rode in a friends 550hp Stinger the other day and it was just unbelievable. I need that kind of speed in my life haha.

Yeah it should work for any car as long as you can attach the spring to the lifting arm of the trunk.
