It's definitely a debatable topic and I'll be making a whole video about it but yes, I don't consider a principal residence an investment. It is an expense, year after year. Not to say that you shouldn't buy a house. But don't convince yourself that you are investing... that's no the intent and until you eventually sell, it's not doing anything for you

Absolutely! Personally I prefer investing in both ETFs and individual stocks! But for the average beginner, going a pure ETF approach is safer, easier and less stressful =)
